Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 706 votes

1976 Jaguar XJC 4. 2

Offered for sale is this Jaguar XJ Coupe. One of less than six and a half thousand ever made.

Dry stored and re-commissioned as part of a Discovery Channel television programme.

The car is finished in original Fern Green with Kent Alloy wheels and biscuit leather interior.

Sympathetic modifications to the 4. 2 six cylinder engine make this a very useable car. the automatic gearbox shifts seamlessly and copes very well in everyday modern traffic but this Jaguar would be equally suitable as a weekend show car.

Recent mechanical work includes:

New electronic ignition including plugs. coil and distributor cap.

Ceramic coated stainless manifold and complete exhaust system.

New water pump and hoses with new drive belts installed.

Refurbished battery cooling jacket

The shock absorbers and brake callipers are visibly new.

This Jaguar is no slouch. the twelve valve XK engine with twin SU carbs develops 180bhp and covers 0-60mph in under nine seconds.

A package of interior improvements that includes window mouldings. door seals and trim.

Interior carpets are as new throughout; tan cabin carpets show no signs of wear. The headliner is as new and the biscuit leather upholstery is in top condition with no splits or worn patches. Electric windows all round also benefit from new rubber seals.

All switches and dials are in perfect working order including the original radio cassette.

The car comes with a comprehensive history which includes the original Leyland passport and has been serviced with genuine Jaguar parts.

Lots of old MOT's dating back to 1989. no advisories since 2011.

Previously owned by a racing mechanic for the Arrows racing team and a classic car restorer

The vehicle was professionally restored to the highest standard at the turn of the century and has had very little wear since. As such this is one of the finest examples of this model available today. A stunning British coupe and rapidly appreciating asset. Tipped in Practical Classics Magazine as “the next big thing”.

Soon to become tax exempt under new treasury regulations. so now is the time to buy.

The improvements to this car were completed on the television programme "Wheeler Dealers " in 3012, for the 2013 xserkes. Not exactly recent, but should still be top class.
