Piper Le Mans GTR prototype car 1969 - extremely rare one-off replica.

In 1969 only four of these cars were built. one of which entered the 1969 Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. I originally owned one of the four. which I rebuilt and occasionally raced. In 2008 I built this replica for use as a track day car. It has a brand new space frame chassis. all new running gear. wheels. tyres. electrics. brakes. safety fuel tank. etc. The Ford Zetec/Sigma engine and 5-speed gearbox were installed with right-handed gear change. The new bodywork was taken from my original car and designed to be more practical than the original.  It also has improved opening gull wing doors. better radiator cooling and more general accessibility to the mechanics/engine and steering/brake reservoirs. etc. To date the car's completed approximately 50 miles shake-down test and has been installed in my home garage since new.

A full set of body moulds could be available to the purchaser if required.

Hi Barry, your car looks to have great interest for me because I'm Belgian and the designer of this car was Belgian, Georges Henrotte, secondly the GTR was the first small car to use the front flap between the front drive train. Your car is replica, have you the designs and documents to reproduce exactly the square tubing space frame as the original GTR?You don't talk price? Best regards, Raymond
