Originally supplied to Germany in left hand drive. this Spider. initially registered on 8th July 1976 was purchased by the second owner in 1978 who immediately shipped it to Greece where he was working at the time.  It was used there until the second owner brought the car into the UK in 1983 where it remained in his possession until February 2012.   It was purchased by the third owner who drove it to the South of France in May 2012 for the summer returning in October the same year. the drive demonstrating this car's absolute reliability.


It is finished in Dutch Blue with Red upholstery and a Black Hood.  There is a substantial history file comprising the original handbook. 17 old MOT certificates. the original service book stamped from 1976 to 1984 then bills from Alfaman and the like between 1984 to 2012 totalling £16. 67.


An engine rebuild was reportedly carried out circa 1998 with the mileage at that time recorded in the region of 90. 00kms. The body was renovated two years later in 2000 and was extensively rust proofed at the same time. Since then. the gearbox has been overhauled with a new clutch and Michelin Energy Tyres fitted. In November 2012. the car was driven to TMC Alfa Romeo Specialists of Dorchester in Dorset for a replacement water pump. windscreen washer system rebuild and new wipers.  

It also has an alarm and immobiliser fitted.


The panel shuts are an enthusiasts dream with the doors closing with a good clunk and without any undue effort. the sill panel seams and swages being correct and sharp. The crisp five speed gearbox is particularly good with smooth changes throughout. even when cold. Reverse gear does not jump out on full release of the clutch whilst engaged as may be found on many examples. The car has sound bodywork. a nice interior patina for it's age and is presented with Blu Hollandaise (Dutch Blue) coachwork which would benefit from some straightforward cosmetic attention.


This Alfa Romeo Spider is now being offered due to infrequent use having been stored in a garage for the majority of the past year.

It has 109. 54 kms recorded which equates to 68. 60 miles.  


It is taxed until July 2014 and has a new MOT certificate valid for a full 12 months expiring April 2015.
