This Escort is a period Safety Devices (no 41) Shell and was owned in the 80's by a well known chap called Bob Batty and run for him in a 7 car team. comprising of 5x mk2's. 1x mk1 and a HSR Chevette. by Kev Moriarty of K. D. M Motorsport. a company still going strong today from Southern Ireland. The car apparently started out as a BDA and was then converted to a Pinto and was run in the BTRDA as well as other events. After a successful spell with Mr Batty the car fell into the hands of Gordon Spooner (Engineering) and from what I can make out wasn't used (?????). The car was then bought by Stuart Newby of TEG Sport and built up to the spec it is today. The car then did a couple of RAC rallies with Stuart with some success and after this I bought it. I myself have done 2 Grizedale Stages and 2 Malcolm Wilson  rallies as well as 4 Barbon Hill Climbs. all these events without any mechanical problems or body damage. This car is bullet proof in all areas and is a credit to the team at TEG Sport (Stuart. Aaron and Aaron junior) who built it. It has been built with the best parts as the following lists shows;

Genuine ZF box (not the brand new Elite ones) which has just been opened up at WWRS with all seals/gaskets renewed and a clean bill of health given.

Dave Brookes Cosworth YB N/A on Jenvey Throttle Bodies running Omex (ecu) which pulls like a train and is superb on forest events.

Fully floating Atlas with indestructable Modena internals.

Historic AP Brakes all round with discs/bells and new Mintex pads.

Fully adjustable Bilstien suspension all round.

Brand new Sparco seats and belts.

6 Linked although I only run a panard rod.

Mini Lite wheels which include 4x Original magnesium fronts.

An aircraft loom that also has the correct wiring for a BDA (these looms cost thousands)

Aluminium tank/filler etc.  The list goes on and on but to put it into perspective. if you considered the shell to be worth £7. 5k if you take into account the small amount of restoration it would take to bring it back to new. the car would cost £50k+ to build and that doesn't take into acc the labour cost and all the clips/pipes and sundries not listed.
