Chevrolet Corvette-1971-big block-70k restoration

After many . any years of owning Corvettes. this is a rare find . Imported in the late 80s as an original 71 Big Block vette it was put straight into a long term body off nut and bolt rebuild . Body off and complete chassis overhaul with new cross member etc etc . lease see pics. This process was given to a well known vette specialist Some 10 years and 70 thousand pounds later the car was 95 percent complete . Unfortunately the owner passed away and never got the time to drive his pride and joy . It went into storage . Where-upon another very well known and respected Corvette restorer bought it and took to finishing it off with all the same exacting standards as before . The object was to produce the iconic 71 big block as close to like new as possible. Everything has been done to NCRS standards. It had new seats not recon. new dials . ot recon. Even the glass on the clocks was new . New drivetrain. ew bearings. ew diff. new brake system complete . ven the dash was new. All this is documented and with our limited maths skills we can soon see 70 k worth of receipts. It was painted in the original colour of Bridgehampton Blue and even though painted some years ago still looks amazing.
Sidepipes have recently been added all new to give that 70s muscle look . ut we also have a new original full exhaust system including manifolds which if the full asking price is paid . ill be included . We have some other stuff too like car cover this too will be included . This car is borderline faultless. every nut bolt and washer has been done . We look at many classics and many are over described as seems to becoming the norm as if to justify a high price . But we tell it as it is. If you want one of the best Big Block C3 vettes in the land then this is for you . If you want the most original un restored survivor low mileage vettes we have one of those too . If you want a cheap c3 which will be a money pit and never drive right then please look elsewhere .
Engine & Transmission
The 454 powerplant is as good as new and only covered approx 5000 miles since build . ll ancillaries are new . If you are into big blocks you will know they are bullett proof and have a very good torque ratio . This unit has had a full rebuild with as many original/stock parts as possible . Everything has been refurbed or replaced when this car was restored . Including original distributor with mechanical tach drive all rebuilt . riginal Rochester carb fully rebulit . he list is huge. Included is a brand new turbo 400 gearbox. nd the whole of the underneath including brakes. uspension . teering . ack axle with a brand new diff. Make no mistake this is the real deal it really is as clean underneath as it is on top . Amazing!!!!
Wheels. Tyres & Brakes
All wheels and all trim and the tyres are brand new . es brand new not reconditioned or sprayed . ew !
Exterior
The original colour is just stunning . All new body rubbers/seals. ll new chrome . ll Glass where needed has been replaced with new . The window regulators have all been rebuilt. The car has covered 5000 miles since resto. there are a few tiny stonechips been picked up over the years but that is it . If you know your vettes you will know this doesnt come cheap.
Interior & Equipment
Immaculate interior . hich on any C3 is saying something . Everything works as it should . Most of the interior is new including dials. ash . eats. witches. arpets. ven the heater controls are new and the clock and radio have been rebuilt. again amazing .
