Rare and exceptional opportunity to obtain one of the finest iconic first generation survivor Mustang convertibles to exist.  You can not reproduce "originality"!
I personally have been around the collector car hobby for a very long time. Survivor vehicles like this are far and few between. Rarely do all the stars align where a near perfect survivor is also one that came from the factory in the most desirable of; body types (Mustang). body style (convertible). nbsp;pinnacle year (1966). color combination (red on red). and drive train (V8-4sp) all in one vehicle. This is one of those very rare machines! Amazing condition survivor with only 68K  pampered original miles on the clock. AND. it came from the factory optioned as the ultimate driving machine in its day;  Red on Red. 289c. i. V-8. 4 speed. and CONVERTIBLE! It was ordered with a true sports car mentality with manual: 4sp transmission. steering. brakes. and convertible top. Nothing to take power away from the engine. take away from the feel of the road. and nothing to add unnecessary extra weight or "fluff" . Just a TRUE American four seat sports car that is all that it was meant to be! Piloting this Mustang around a twisty road. it is easy to see how Carol Shelby using this same basic platform and a few bolt-on mods turned the '66 V8 Mustang into one of the most iconic and sought after performance vehicles of all time! This Mustang is part of my personal collection of survivor vehicles and I have been all over this Mustang; inside. outside and underneath just marveling at how well preserved it is. Original factory assembly line markings are present. factory applied  ruddy brown under carriage paint in exceptional condition. factory assembly over spray still visible for reference inspection. factory applied under-coat and seam sealer un-touched. etc. all add up to make this a bench mark type survivor. I have found it to be in amazing original condition presenting its self to be truly RUST FREE and ACCIDENT FREE its entire life. I have uploaded a couple of pictures showing the  original assembly line applied "T" . "25" and "C" factory assembly markings that are still present on the radiator support telling the assembly line workers the exterior color. what interior type & color. and type engine to install. It still has a treasure trove of assembly line markings present; under the hood. on the frame. drive shaft. rear end. suspension components. etc.   The beautiful exterior paint is mostly original with some brush or spray touch ups as the paint wore thin in places from cleaning-waxing or an acquired blemish in the surface happened. I would call the paint an 8. 5 out of 10 which is outstanding for a car of this year that has never been restored. The body panels are 100% ALL ORIGINAL and are nearly as flawless as the day it rolled off the assembly line. I would rate the body at 9. 9 out of 10.  The engine has never been out of the bay and is still running perfectly from the factory assembly line.   Trans and clutch operate perfectly and without issue. Suspension and steering feel tight and very responsive. absolutely zero play in the steering and it tracks straight as an arrow going down the road at any speed. Brakes function excellent with great pedal feel. very positive and immediate response.  Mechanically I would trust this vehicle completely to take me across the state or country. My wife and I  think nothing of jumping in it and taking 100+ mile trips.  And when parked. there are absolutely no leaks. This Mustang also still sports its original interior plus its original convertible top boot cover (still has the ink stamp part #s on backside) and original trunk mat (still has the ink stamp part # as well). The entire dash is amazing and all the gauges and controls still look and operate perfect.   The original chrome shines just like new inside and out. Not a speck of pitting anywhere. not even on a door handle. All the stainless is bright and shiny still. All the original rubber weather stripping is still present even around the trunk and on the convertible top frame and in great shape.  The window felts are still present and in great shape. Even under the dash is incredibly clean. This Mustang has been very well preserved. nbsp;meticulously maintained. and kept detailed. The convertible top has been replaced and is perfect (white in color as original). A couple tasteful factory available upgrades have been added such as; the original rims with hub caps have been replaced with a correct set of factory style rally wheels. an OEM factory dual exhaust system installed (has a very nice throaty tone. not loud. just a great factory V8 sound!) and the original Autolite carburetor was upgraded to a period correct Holley unit to maintain that original  factory look.  I will let the pictures do the majority of talking. You will have to mentally remind yourself you are looking at an unrestored vehicle as it is in such nice condition. You can just imagine how much this bench mark Mustang would be worth if it was a Shelby (approx $350. 00) or even a "K code" (about $100. 00). I have priced this vehicle fairly according to its rarity. super survivor condition. desirable factory options. excellent mechanical condition. etc. this is truly is one of the most desirable and best survivor Mustangs available anywhere!   Feel free to call me or email me through Ebay with any questions or to arrange to come and inspect this Mustang in person during the auction.
