SELLER REMARKS

Hard to go wrong with a Mustang with a top that goes down and eight cylinders under the hood. This 1969 isn't an ultra-rare collectable. it isn't a trailer queen. it's just a solid. clean. fun driver that just does everything right.

Silver wasn't a big color in 1969. but it certainly looks great today doesn't it? There's no denying it works perfectly now. and we think you'd be hard pressed to pick a color that would look better than this. 1969 might have been the pinnacle of Mustang design. and this one borrows styling cues from all the greats. including a chin spoiler like a Boss 302. a hood scoop like a Mach 1. and rocker panel stripes from a Shelby. The bodywork was done back in the mid-2000s. but it has held up well given how hard this car is to resist on the open road. As I said. it's not perfect. but that wasn't the point either-who wants a Mustang convertible you can't drive? What does work well is the pinstriping that runs the length of the body. the shiny two-stage urethane paint. and the obvious care that went into the restoration when it was done. The chrome is in good condition with original-looking stainless trim surrounding the grille and tail panel.

Tastefully modified. the interior presents the same combination of styling elements to make something new and interesting. High-back buckets with headrests wear reproduction seat covers that are surprisingly luxurious-looking. complete with Mustang emblems on the seat backs. The center console. dashboard. and door panels are covered in wood appliques that warm up the all-black interior and work well with the wood-rimmed steering wheel. You'll note that the gauges are aftermarket pieces that fit in the original holes like they were made by the same guy. although the modern digital odometer and clock. plus the other-worldly blue glow at night. gives it a trick look that's not your average Mustang. An AM/FM/iPod stereo system with speakers in the doors and in the rear seat area provide great sound. even with the top down. and there's A/C for those times when the weather just won't cooperate. The black power top features the unique split rear window that helps it stay compact. and there's an aftermarket boot in the trunk. That trunk is covered with a carpeted mat and includes an aftermarket wheel and spare tire-it doesn't match. but it works.

The 302 cubic inch V8 was recently rebuilt and detailed. then dropped back between the Mustang's frame rails. With the silver paint as a background. the engine has a very high-tech look with those bright red MSD ignition components and polished Ford Motorsport valve covers. A 4-barrel Holley carburetor gives the small block V8 instantaneous throttle response. while the A/C system uses modern components and R134a refrigerant for reliability. Other upgrades include an aluminum radiator. long-tube headers. and a glasspack-style mufflers for a great sound. A C4 3-speed automatic was rebuilt and bolted on behind the stout little V8. and with 2. 75 gears out back it's an easy high-speed cruiser that feels relaxed in everything it does. Shiny Magnum 500 wheels are always the right choice on a late-60s Mustang. and they wear 225/60/15 Uniroyal radials at all four corners.

There's no denying the appeal of quality driver-grade cars that you can enjoy. and nothing works as well as a Mustang ragtop for chasing away a bad mood. Call today!
