The originality and survivor status of this car cannot be emphasized enough. This is a dry-state matching engine and chassis number 1969 E-Type Jaguar 2+2 Coupe in the classic colour combination of primrose yellow paintwork and black leather interior. This car has a strong body shell. very sound and straight. quite remarkable for its age. It was re-painted about 20 years ago and there is very minimal surface rust on a few panels. Though believed stored 'off the road' for many years some renovation work has been started as evidenced by new fuel lines and new brake linings. The car is solid underneath. with factory underseal still evident. and no visible oil leaks from under the engine. The original owner's manual comes with the car and the original jack is still to be found in the boot. However there is no service history. One really standout feature is the quality and condition of the exterior chrome work. really bright and untarnished. It will restore well. so no new chrome is needed. The interior is original with all but the driver's seat in good. restorable condition. The dashboard has all the original switches. buttons and dials in place. It's rare to find an original example of this car as a ‘barn find'. There are a number of jobs to do on the car to get it to a good standard as a useable daily running car. These we will complete before sale. This renovation work will be carried out by a respected European Jaguar specialist. We will fit a new water pump. fix the electric cooling fan and repair the driver's seat which has a tear in it. Tests will be done to ensure the gearbox and drivetrain are serviceable. The car will be available for a full road test. The carburettor body will be stripped out. cleaned and reassembled. The interior headliner is sagging so we will refurbish that. Under the passenger footwell. where a car-jack was used has left a very small amount of damage which will be repaired/welded. The car will be fully valeted and super-detailed so that every engine part sparkles and the wheels and body work gleam. The interior leather will be restored with appropriate hide food and oils.
