History:

I bought the car about 6 years ago with no engine or transmission.   The Mustang II suspension was already installed and professionally done with very nice looking welds and alignment.   The body was straight. rust free and paint was in good condition.   Paint had some scratches and chips. but it was fine since it was not going to be a show car.    I didn't want to do body work and wanted to restomod the car so it was a perfect candidate.   Previous owner's motive was to drag race the car. so he put a  tall scope and  9in rearend.   I got rid of the scope and covered it with a low profile ABS plastic scope.   I found a 5. 0 HO engine and tore it down to send it to the machine shop to bore and balance.   I put together the engine with new pistons. rings. bearings. oil pump. freeze plugs. water pump. timing chain. etc. The heads were in good shape so they just got new seals and cleaned up.   Since then. I have modified the car for reliablity and making it safer to drive.   Since it been on the road. I have not had any break down and it starts every time.  I have taken the car to track days and autocross with no mechanical issue.   I've always used Mobile 1 engine oil after break in and Red Line for everything else.  I have done most of the work myself. so I'll be able to answer any questions about the car such as wiring and parts to the new owner after the sell.

Here are some of the highlights of the car.

1.       5. 0 HO EFI engine rebuild with all new parts. ~4000 mile since rebuild.   Engine build to stock spec.   EFI wiring was cleaned up and checked before installing in the car.   ECM is a proper A9L.

2.      T5  heavy duty 5 speed manual transmission with hydraulic clutch.  New Clutch. throw out/pilot bearings. and flywheel were replaced during engine rebuild.

3.      Custom drive shaft with new U joint same time as engine rebuild.

4.      Mustang II front suspension with American Eagle coil overs.   Power Ford rack and pinion.

5.      4 wheel power disc brakes. 11” rotors front and rear.

6.      Front brake caliper is Wildwood (Product Number: 120-8924) http://www. wilwood. com/Calipers/CaliperProd. aspx?itemno=120-8924. braided front brake hoses

7.      Rear brakes were converted from drum to disc with mid 90's crown Victoria discs and calipers

8.      9” open differential. 28 spline. 3. 25 gears

9.      Grab a Track 4 ½ mid eye leaf springs with traction bars

10.   New fuel tank and  In-Tank Fuel Pump Module - PA-Series w/ roll over vent valve

11.   Custom stereo – MP3/Radio deck. pair of 3 ½ Kenwood speaker in dash and Pioneer 6 x 9 in the rear deck. two 10” PPI subwoofer with amplifier.

12.   Custom center console with built in switches and handbrake.

13.   Trunk mounted gel battery with two power wires (one for starter and one for power to the car)

14.   Custom gauges from a fox body Mustang modified to fit and function with the 66 Mustang dash panel.   All the gauges and warning light work. Speedo is little off. Engine light will come on if problem is detected and code can be retrieve by the plug in the glove box.

15.   DEI Python Alarm w/starter kill. power lock control (installed actuators on both doors). power trunk control (Solenoid activated).

16.    Power windows with switches in the center console.  Spal aftermarket add on kit.

17.   Champion radiator with electric fan (Derale High output Electric Fan Part# 16926).

18.   Tilt steering column with Grant wheel.

19.   96 Mustang leather front seats with three point seat belt.

20.   Fiberglass hood.

21.   17 x 8 Mustang bullit wheels with few thousand miles on the tires.   Currently plastic dipped black. but can be peeled to original grey color.   Front hubs have 1” bolt on spacer for more flush look with the fender.   No rubbing issue.

22.   New front windshield and seals. Most of the seals on the car is new.

23.   130 Amp 3G alternator and Summit Racing Multi-spark box with RPM limiter.

24.   Wheel alignment done to . 5 negative camber. 5 positive caster. and 1/8 toe in.

25.   Shorty header to 2 ½ H-Pipe to dual Flowmaster Delta mufflers

26. Subframe connector installed.

Here's are list of things I think needs attention.

1.       Turn signal doesn't automatically reset when the wheels are turn back.   Probably need to take the steering wheel off and adjust the pin that retracts the turn signal lever.

2.      When the engine is cold. there is a squeaking sound coming from one of the pulley.   I know it's not the engine because when I pull the serpentine belt off and start the engine. there is no noise.   When the engine warms up the sound goes away.

3.      Paint needs a good buffing and some touch up.  Few feet away. the car looks awesome. but there are flaws.  I have pictures of some of the them in the photo link.

4.      Like any old cars. when filling gas. don't over fill because the gas will squirt out of the hole.   The gas tank is vented to a charcoal box in the passenger fender.

5.      Need to change the upper radiator hose for better routing.   When I added power steering pump. the pulley need to be relocated to stock position which made the pulley touch the radiator hose.

6.      The electric fan could be replace with larger one to reduce noise when turned on high.   I put a two speed set up to reduce noise and turns on high around 210 degrees.   There's also a manual switch to turn on high any time.

7.      The subwoofer needs a larger amplifier.   I replaced with a smaller one I had when my large amp broke.   The amp is behind the rear seat and should be easy to swap out.

8.      Passenger door needs little more effort than the driver side to close.  Need to align window or door little better.

9.      Slight oil leak at rear of the engine (on drips on the floor).   Coming from oil pan seal. which didn't seal well when I had to drop the pan to fit the power rack and pinion.

10.   The parking brake handle is from a mid-90's Mustang which has a self-adjusting spring loaded tensioner.   In order to properly engage. need to pull up little more than usual. I always put it in gear when parked to be safe.

11.   Speedo is about 10mph off. it reads faster.   Need to change the speedo gear to match.

12.   Rear quarter windows need better alignment when going up and down.    I don't use it so I put it up to proper alignment and took the handles off.

13.   There's NO heater box. controls. and ducting.   I don't use the car much in the winter. so never bother to put one in.   The coolant to heater is looped closed in the engine compartment.
