FORD: 1964 THUNDERBIRD HARDTOP 2 DOOR COUPE

This T-Bird broke down outside of Baker. CA because the head gasket started leaking.   The T-Bird was towed and stored by a tow company in 1971.    Baker. CA. is the gateway to the hottest desert in the U. S.   It has a large thermometer you can read from the freeway as you pass by.    I purchased the T-Bird in 1983 from the tow company with a little more than 32. 00 miles on its odometer.    The sun had done quite a bit of damage while the car just sat out in the weather.    I was on the Sheriff's Office at the time and my partner in Baker. CA had previously worked at a garage that specialized in complete restoration of cars.   The engine block was ruined because of the head gasket.   A different head block was obtained and the engine was completely rebuilt.   The transmission was overhauled and the vehicle was painted.   New brakes were also installed.   At about 1988. a new head liner was installed. the front buckets seats were rebuilt and recovered and new door panels were installed.    The T-Bird was still not an every day car and I did not put a lot of miles on it after we had it running again.

The T-Bird was repainted again in 2003 in Greeley. Nebraska as it had sat out in the weather in CA. . and MT. . and lost its luster.   It is a beautiful metallic blue enamel paint.    To save wear on the engine. when I moved. the T-Bird was towed to Montana where I stayed for 3 years. and then towed to NE. . where it is now.   The T-Bird has less than 1. 00 miles on the rebuilt engine since I obtained it.   The mileage on the car is now 32898 and 7/10's.    My wife drives it in parades or what not. nbsp;but not often enough.   It has its factory installed AM radio.   Dec. 2013. a new fuel pump added.   This beautiful car needs a new home where someone will take it out and let it perform like it should.   Wife took it out one day and kicked it up to 90 on a 2 lane highway. "to shake out the dust" she said.   She also said it performs when you want it to.     It has five new white wall tires (including the spare) which don't have 20 miles on them yet.     Drive it home as this is a pick-up only sale. unless previously negotiated. You might live where we may want to visit and we'll drive it out to you.   Yes. this is a lot of bucks and for it to be prime. some more money has to be added.    To date. I have invested this much money into it. and we don't believe you'll be disappointed.     Come by and test drive it!
