1978 Chevy Malibu 4 Speed Classic G Body Chevrolet 1979 1980 1981 1982

This car was restored about 12 years ago.   I started with a 99% rust free South Dakota car.   I do have pictures from before I started if you want to see them.  

It has a mildly built small block 400 bored 30 over with speed pro coated pistons. eagle rods. 2. 02/1. 90 heads. Howards Cam. Edelbrock Torquer intake. Holler Street Avenger 770. K&N air filter. etc.  

The trans is a 1968 Muncie M21 and was completely rebuilt a few years ago.   The shifter is a Hurst Competition plus that was new when it was installed.

It still has the original rear end. but has an Eaton limited slip and Strange axles and Gears.   The ratio is 3:42.

The exhaust is 2 1/2" with 50 series Flowmaster mufflers.

It has a goodmark steel cowl induction hood and complete Monte Carlo SS interior.   It has a functioning in dash tach from the Monte.   The paint is a GM color Medium Charcoal Grey Metallic from a '99 Chevy truck.   The windows are tinted on the sides and rear.

The entire body was stripped to bare metal.   The underbody is POR15.   All new polygraphite bushings were installed as well as the Monte suspension.

I have over $17k in receipts.   It's all around a great car.   I drove it 650 miles round trip to the Car Craft Summer Nationals last year and it has actually been a small part of a G Body feature in the magazine.   It starts immediately and runs great.  

I will be open to offers or trades for an older hot rod or classic 2 door car or truck.   Interested in old suburbans as well.   No boats. motorcycles. etc will be considered.   Let me know what you've got.   The worst I can do is say no.

The car is located in SE Wisconsin and you will be responsible for shipping.   The car is sold as is. no warranty.   There are no known problems with it other than one front tire has separated.   I will put 2 new front BFG tires on if it sells.

Update 2/17/14: I just added some pics of the car while it was apart due to popular demand.   You can see how clean the body and floors are.   I have more. but they're in the car which is in storage.   I'll try to get more out this weekend.   While looking through pictures I remembered the small issues with the door panels.   The inserts on the grab straps are missing and the Monty had power windows so the window cranks come through square holes.   It was never a big deal to me I guess.

Update 2/22/14: Added more "before photos".   Also. the headlight bezels are NOS GM. the grill is new from OPG.
