NUMBERS MATCHING SS396 WITH A BUILD SHEET! RARE CRANBERRY RED ON RED INTERIOR! BIG BLOCK AND A 4-SPEED! SPECIFICATIONS Year 1970 Make Chevrolet Model Chevelle SS396 Hardtop VIN 136370K164197 Mileage 80. 45 Engine 396ci Cylinders V8 Transmission 4-Speed Manual Title Clear/ MO Color Canberry Red Interior Color Red Vinyl DESCRIPTION By 1970. the horsepower race was in full swing. FoMoCo. GM and Mopar all offered multiple cars with big block V8s that had (conservative) horsepower ratings in the 400 range. Chevrolet introduced the mid-size. A-body Chevelle in 1964. offering many different body styles and a plethora of engines including three inline sixes. two small blocks and even a big block 396. The next revision came in 1968 when the Chevelle embraced more of its muscle car lineage. The newly updated body would continue on the success of the originals and would make a perfect predecessor to the 1970 models. Welcome the 1970 Chevelle. what many consider the baddest of them all! The once again updated body was one of the most iconic shapes of the muscle car era. not to mention one of the most menacing for stoplight rivals. In SS trim. the car mandated at least the L48 396. as well as HD suspension. blacked out grille. SS rear trim. and wide oval tires on sport wheels.

We are very excited to offer this numbers matching 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396. Finished in its original 75 Cranberry Red with matching hardtop. the car is equipped with a ZL2 Cowl Induction package including hood pins and black stripes. This Kansas City car was built with a Muncie M21 4-Speed transmission and full F41 Suspension. In addition. the car was fitted with power steering. power front disc brakes. and a 3. 31 Posi rear end! This cosmetically restored car comes with a Strato bucket seat interior with SS gauges. tinted glass. windshield antenna. AM radio. glove box lamp and full-size matching spare and original jack and tools.

This Chevelle comes with an original build sheet. indicating the aforementioned options were all factory added. In addition. it notes that the car was originally delivered to Burt Chevrolet in Englewood. Colorado. The car's current history is known until the mid-late 1980s. where we have registration paperwork from Ridgecrest. California (10/17/1988). The car has been repainted but we believe that the majority of the interior including dash pad. carpet and door panels to be original. The seat belts are date-coded to 1970 and the car retains its original working radio. The intake has since been replaced with a Weiand performance aluminum intake but the original GM intake will be included. On top of the current set-up sits a Holley 4-barrel carb. The car has a brand new exhaust from the manifold back and new wheels and tires with less than 10 miles. The odometer is showing 80. 45 miles; we believe these to be original but do not have enough evidence to fully support it. The car survives today in magnificent condition. with only minor signs of use. It is absolutely ready to be driven and shown anywhere! Please don't hesitate to give a ring with any additional questions! Thanks for looking!
