Mercury : Other Z-7

This auction is for the 2 Tone YELLOW Car pictured. {{{The White car is pictured just as an example of what can be done cheaply to one of these. AND that a Big Block "460" fits easily into these bodies}}}

The YELLOW car (being auctioned) is a 1979 Mercury Zephyr Z-7 Coupe. It has just a little over 67 thousand miles on it. These cars make an awesome little Hot Rod when modified right. Many of the Fox Body upgrades for the Mustang will work on these too. Just like the Ford Fairmont.

This little car is NOT PERFECT. but is GREAT starting material for a project. It's light. attractive. easily modified. and not hard to find parts for. {{AND. it's NOT just another Fox Body Mustang}} This one could (with relatively minor work) be easily tweeked back into a daily driver too.

The 6 cylinder runs well. and the trans. works like it should. All lights and wipers as well as heater work. Has NO RADIO. (was gone when I bought the car). The car has been sitting and used only on rare occasions over the past 3-4 years. Therefore. it could use a tune up. and things like belts and hoses  etc. . gone over. Tires are starting to dry-rot. I would not be afraid to drive it locally. but I personally would not take it on a long trip without going over the normal stuff.

The body is quite good for a 35 year old car. Rust on the driver's side looks to be superficial. The Bottom of the passenger's door is bad. The vinyl top is cracked(as most of these did). The Passenger's quarter and door have a crease in them that as far as the quarter could be relatively easily straightened. I think the door should be replaced. The headliner was missing when I got the car. There are some paint bubbles on the rear edge of the decklid (may be through). Bottom of the car is VERY CLEAN for its age.

This is pretty much what You see is what You get. A pretty decent 35 year old car. Being sold "AS-IS" WITH NO GUARANTEES.   The car does have a clear title which reflects the mileage as Actual. Would make a great. LIGHT. Drag Car or Street Machine.

I have too many projects. and want to finish the White car. so this one must go.
