Cadillac : Other Have most of chrome

1959 Cadillac - Series 60.   Straight SOLID BODY.   Doors close like a Bank Vault.   Body is free of rust.   Glass is good.   Power windows work (right rear is off track. )  Hood and trunk lid have come from other '59 Caddys - solid lids with some slight typical corrosion under the lip of each. typical to the year.   Trunk lid says "Fleetwood" - Caddy is NOT a Fleetwood. it's a Series 60.   Floor pans have been replaced with aluminum pans.   Zero "rust-thru" anywhere.

NON-ORIGINAL ENGINE.   Has a 1972 Buick 455cid with 8. 3 to 1 Compression.   If you know muscle-car era Big Blocks. you know what a Buick 455cid is.   Motor runs. no issues.

Needs interior.   Has clean after-market front seats and original back seat in poor condition.   Back seat is out of car being stored.   ADDITIONAL INFO on the interior:  I have received lots of questions on the condition of the interior:  Has good door panels. dash is okay. has a nice blue&white star headliner (like the blue field in an American Flag).   Does NOT have working speedo. NO carpet. essentially needs a complete interior re-do.   Floor is corrosion-free with floor pans replaced with aluminum.   I have mylar sheets covering the floor.   New pics are posted.

Has most but not all chrome.   I've NOT inventoried each & every piece of chrome.   Has all five bright shiny hubcaps.

The Fog Lights are Stock (rare).   This is the same grill as on the GHOSTBUSTERS ambulance Caddy.

NOT A DAILY DRIVER.   Needs some work to get this running.   1. Tranny leaks fluid because it needs the Modulator replaced. I have the part. just not the time to get under car to change it.   2.   The radiator is under-capacity for the size of engine.   I have driven car around. but for a long trip buyer will want a bigger radiator.   Has electric cooling fan installed.   3.   When I replaced the water pump. I had to remove and pitch the belt to the power steering pump - needs new belt.   Pump works fine.   4.   The alternator MIGHT? be bad - it's a $30 to $45 dollar part.   Usually when changing alternator. it's recommended to change voltage regulator too.

Battery is a one-year-old 925 cold-crank-amp. with 180 minute reserve giant battery that you could put in an 18-wheeler.   Bought new from Tractor Supply. about $125.

Story line goes that I bought this on a whim from a friend with grand hopes of restoring this classic vehicle.   However. I'm not a 16-year-old kid anymore. I'm a 45-year-old engineer with absolutely NO TIME to work on this.

Vehicle is located in Copperhill TN 37317 in Cherokee Hills Subdivision and available for inspection with prior notice.   In fairness. this is your prototypical. "No-Warranty. AS-IS. WHERE-IS" sale of a 50+ year-old classic vehicle.

Questions on transporting vehicle on a trailer:  Vehicle measures 19-feet long. 6 1/2 feet wide. wheelbase is 10 1/2 feet. and yes. the Fins are 14" !  Vehicle does start and drive short distances.

Honestly. the 1959 Caddy is an awesome car with awesome potential. I just don't have the time. patience. (or the audience) to put up with a restoration.   I want this to go to a good home where it can receive the time & attention it deserves.

 Questions on Chrome?  I have an additional pic on the chrome inventory.   Seems I've uploaded the maximum number.   I can email a pic of the chrome I have.   The large and small pieces cover a 4-foot by 6-foot blanket.   I have four brand new in the plastic red conical taillight lenses (even though the existing ones are pretty good).   I also have. brand new in plastic. a red & chrome "455" emblem.   Thank you.
