Malachite Green Metallic with Mushroom leather complete with Panoramic Roof.

Supplied new to the cars single owner on the last day of October 1997. through the Mercedes Benz dealer. Jacksons C. I ltd of Guernsey. The car was sparingly used by the the car's one and only owner. a lady who obviously cherished her Mercedes and kept the car impeccably maintained for the duration of her ownership. The car left Guernsey for the first time this year. n Island where they do not use salt during the winter months. resulting in a corrosion free car. and a 40mph speed limit. indicating it has neither been raced nor rallied!!

Finished in a stunning shade of dark green. the owner. clearly a lady of some taste. had various Mercedes options fitted by the factory which include:

8-holes alloy wheels (polished)

Leather seating

Metallic paint

Heated seats

Rear seat finished in leather. (Appears to have never been used)

Sump guard.

Glass hard top. Panoramic roof.

These were all in addition to standard features such a climate control. cruise control. abs. electric front seats.

(Out of interest the car was £66000 new in 1997!)

General Condition of the Car:

Interior

Finished in mushroom leather.

Original Mercedes Benz overmats fitted from new. Overall. quite simply magnificent. Near unmarked. Just a few creases in the drivers seat. as leather does. the rest quite simply unmarked.

The boot compartment is similarly with an appearance of being unused. the spare wheel. tool kit. jack. first aid kit. wind deflector all present and dormant.

Paintwork & Bodywork

Finished in Malachite Metallic Green. the overall quality and condition of the exterior is quite superb.

There are a handful of stone chips which have been correctly touched in. but these are in no way noticeable.

A great feature of the car is the Panoramic roof which was a £2600 option.

The hood is in good condition. having spent most of its life down. it has been kept away from the elements.

Wheels & Tyres

The optional polished 8 hole alloy wheels are completely original and untouched. There are no signs of any kerbing. but due to age alone. there are signs of a spiderweb type marking. It does not spoil the overall effect of the car in any way. but any rectification work would be a very personal choice. and can be done easily and is not expensive.

The tyres all have 5-6 mm of wear left.

Mechanics

The car stops. starts. and drives impeccably.

The actual engine compartment is completely original and of a show standard.

This car has the 2. 8 litre 6 cylinder engine developing 193 bhp. giving a top speed of 140mph. but with an economy the other SL's in the range can only dream of.

The car has the 5 speed automatic gearbox. and the changes are seemless

The car is a joy to drive.

Generally speaking. this is a car to last a lifetime. and with the care of the car shown to date. it should provide years of special. reliable and fun motoring. and could be used as an everyday car. or just for that special occasion. and with an incredibly active Owners Club. there are many events to attend. These W129's are a very much underrated SL. and as time marches on. it is getting harder and harder to find examples worth considering. there being not many low mileage single owner cars remaining.
