1982 FORD CORTINA L BLUE

 This is my stunning Caribbean Blue Cortina Mk5 1. 6 L. Registered new to the one local to me previous owner in 1982. and supplied by Haywards Heath based Dinnages Ford. (Original purchase invoice supplied in mint condition with brochures) The spare key comes on the dealers leather keyring. as new.
43301 miles. and supplied with a large history file with every last MOT including the latest. It passed it's MOT with no advisories late last year. and attracted the usual comments from the tester. "Solid as a rock".
No doubt this example has escaped the rot due to the owners sensible rust proofing when it was new. (The history file backs all this up)
The interior could be described as "mint" or "factory fresh". The cars cigar lighter has not been used. Removing the trunk mat reveals the spotless boot area. and a spare wheel that has never been in contact with the road.
The history file has a description of the life of the car. including minor mishaps (a repaired wing in the 80's that does not match the rest of the car on close inspection. so could use a re-spray to improve) and a small ding on the lower rear where the owner hit a warning triangle in 1984. If anything. it's further confirmation of this cars genuine originality. It truly is a blast from the past. that could easily pass for 5 years old in my opinion. A nice added bonus to this substantial history file is a packet of photos the previous owner has taken of the car over the years.
It runs flawlessly. and starts on the button. The gearbox. clutch. and ride is spot on. A lot of the work on this car was dealt with by it's caring owner. some of his original paint is supplied.
The body work has not been restored. so there are the odd marks here and there. due to for the last 5 years in it's time with the previous owner it was kept outside under a breathable car cover. Evidence of this being attached to the car can be found in the form of small scratches to the boot lid area. I have a dry garage where it has lived since I acquired it last year.
I believe this is truly one of the nicest. most original MK5's left on the road. and I am looking for an enthusiast who will look after the car. and enjoy it.   I have set a sensible reserve. and will not entertain low buy it now offers. True Cortina fans will know the value of this car. Viewings welcome. and I will tax the car at the buyers expense. Collection will be required within 5 days of auction end. and payment in cash.
