1960 Jaguar MK IX Salon


This was the top of the line model of the Mark series which

 started in 1950. The first models in the series had the second

 most powerful production car engine in the world. exceeded

 by the Cadillac V-8. This model series was the mainstay of

 the Jaguar line through the 50's and most likely produced

 most of their income. Epitomizing Jaguar's Moto “Grace. /p>

 Space and Pace. ”  The Mark IX model was even more

 powerful and had many features that were ahead of their

 time in a production car:

• This Mark IX has been fitted with a reliable 327 cu in Small

 Block Chevrolet V-8. automatic transmission. and enhanced

 electrical wiring.

• Dunlop 4 wheel power disc brakes

• Burman power assisted steering

• Suspension included double wish bones front and back

• Semi elliptical springs providing a smooth ride

• Leather interior with walnut burl dash. window trim and

 folding trays.

• Manually operated Sun Roof

• Total of 10. 00 were manufactured between 1959 and 1961

 and approximately 4. 00 made their way to the US with left

 hand drive.

• Weighing in at approx. 4. 00 lbs
