1977 Jeep Wagoneer. RARE Low Miles. 360. V8 with Major Upgrades

Reluctantly for sale:  '77 Jeep Wagoneer. Original Tawny Orange with Original tan plaid interior. Excellent condition (relative to being 37 years old!) I am the second owner of this very low mileage Jeep. The first owner bought the Jeep from the dealer in South Carolina back in 1977. He kept the vehicle until his passing in 2005. I purchased the Jeep then and it had only 50k original miles (previous owner never drove the Jeep outside the area he lived in or to his favorite fishing hole). Since then. this Jeep has been garage kept and I only put about 10k miles on her so you have the chance to own the ORIGINAL SUV with only 60k miles!  Engine runs solid. strong deep sound. original 3 speed tranny shifts smooth through all gears. All around excellent Jeep – I would venture to guess it's one of the best of its kind left. Selling it for much less than I have invested in it (always the story. huh?)

During my tenure. I have completed the following major upgrades:

·         Rebuild of the 360 engine: the block and heads are still original but have been rebuilt by a master mechanic machine shop

·         Removal of cast iron intake manifold for Edelbrock Aluminum intake manifold. Plus Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel Carb and Edelbrock Chrome Valve Covers

·         Complete update of entire hiring harnesses to the modern fuse vs. original bulbs

·         Famous Ford Duraspark TFI upgrade; removed prestolite distributor; MSD wiring and rotor upgrade – for super hot spark (Gas Mileage increased from about a 10 to around 15 MPG)

·         Exhaust Pipe replaced with welded on Dual “D” Chrome Exhaust Tip

·         Recently added 4 new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A's on 6 slot aluminum rims (Rims from similar year Jeep – Still have the 4 original wheels plus wheel covers that come with sale)

·         Added extra leaf springs to all four – added height and stability

·         New Quadra-trac timing chain installed with new Jeep fluid – found a brand new. heavy duty timing chain – NOT the cheap Chinese chains on the market now

·         Original power tailgate window still operational

·         Swapped out original “egg carton” grill for the Rhino grill from same year Jeep (I still have original grill included with sale)

·         New Grant Steering wheel – Still have original wheel which comes with sale

·         NO Oil Leaks – yes you heard that right. I have gone to great lengths to have a oil drip free Jeep. I'm not saying NO LEAKS AT ALL – see below

·         Replaced U-Joints and all fluids

Items of Concern:

·         Removed A/C system. it was no longer functional and R18 is gone. The Jeep runs much cooler in terms of engine temp with the A/C pieces out of the way but there is NO A/C.

·         Wiper motor was upgraded and functional – problem is the cotter pin that should be used to hold the wiper arms in place to the motor isn't there – on occasion. the wiper arm unit falls off the motor while in use. You can easily put the wiper arms back in place and I'm sure there is an easy solution to fix but have not done so – Since I only drive her in great weather. this is not an issue for me!

·         Transmission Fluid Leak – there is a minor leak coming from the where the tranny meets the transfer case – minor as in a couple drips after a drive. I have not been able to find the gasket at fault yet. Also a minor steering fluid leak - couple drips after driving.

·         Heater works but blower fan is not wired – when I replaced all wires behind the dashboard. I neglected to plug it back into the switch. need to remove dash again to fix

·         Exhaust heat riser valve is broke – but it is broke in the open position causing no issue with the drive of the Jeep – It can be replaced as the part is out there for fairly cheap but since I live in S. Florida there is no point in fixing a heat-riser.

·         Needs paint job – it still has the original Tawny Orange but is faded – I have started the process of prepping her for a paint job (hence the primer that is visible)

·         Minor Rust – it's a Jeep. Its 37 years old. there will be rust – but overall the only rust issue is in 1 quarter panel – see pic. Pretty minor.
