This car was imported in April 1978 to Santa Monica CA. It has been in California since.

The Dino:While Ferrari's legendary engineering prowess enabled it to precisely tailored chassis and engine designs to suit the requirements of many sanctioning bodies and events. its limited production capacity became glaringly apparent by the 1960s. Intent on contesting the new FIA European Formula Two series beginning in 1967. which specified a 1. 6 liter limit. Ferrari intended to utilize a derivation of its Vittorio Jano - Engineered "Dini" V-6 of the mid-1950s.  Having already powered Ferrari to the first of its many Formula One championships in 1958. the choice was easy. However. since FIA homologation rules demanded at least 500 production based engines. Ferrari eventually struck a deal with Fiat to jointly produce the Dino - badged road cars. in handsome Bertone Coupe and curvaceous short  - wheel based Pininfarina Spider forms. Development was led by former Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi.  Excluding the 25 prototypes and pre - production cars. just 1. 33 Dino 2000 Spiders powered by a two - liter variant of the DOHC V-6 were built for 1967 and 1968. Simply beautiful. these highly capable and collectible performers feature all alloy engine and an unforgettable drive.
Engine  # 1350000000796. partially disassembled and will need to be rebuilt.  Known missing parts. exhaust system. original steering wheel  . riginal arm rest. side and rear badges. trunk lock. expansion tank. nbsp;Registration renewed for 1979-80 period with personalized blue plates that follows with the car. Engine out of car and disassembled due to dropped valve on cylinder #4 in 1979 - all parts present. bare block installed with heads and carbs for shipping. both heads with new valves. Piston # 4 with hole in it from valve impact (Two used pistons included)4-6 cylinder head. Engine complete - All cylinders have hone marks. no gouges in liner for cylinder # 4 which appears to have been replaced
Exterior was originally Medium Blue with Beige interior. but has now a french Blue Exterior color and blue interiorVery dry body. minor surface rust where paint is missing. windshield has no cracks. all other glass present. bumpers need re chroming and very little straightening. driver door door gap is of at forward edge and needs to be aligned.
Interior. dash fascia and instruments in excellent conditioning. glove box included. rear view mirror needs re silvering due to age. interior is blue vinyl and floor covering is diamond stitched vinyl. No radio
Electrics. all components in interior are in place. alternator is out. original horn. all engine compartments components present. battery cover and strap is in the trunk.
Extras. used head right side later series. no damage noted - to replace the # 4 - 6 original head.
