1932 Ford "BOYDSTER" II Roadster for sale
Current customer rating: (372 votes ) based onUndeniably a '32 Ford roadster. there's actually not a single stock panel on the entire car. which shows you the entire artistry involved. Smooth is the word and the flow of the lines from the painted '32 grille shell to the perfectly rounded and finished tail is far beyond anything they were doing in 1932. The fiberglass is beautifully finished to show standards. with impeccable gaps and crisp details like the beltline molding and the wheel well. Of course. that's what you'd expect from a rod finished by the famous Roy Pigford at Roy's Body Shop in Houston. and the sizzling yellow paint almost looks like it will burn you if you touch it. Taillights are hidden. there are no door handles. and the raked-back windshield with curved glass is perhaps the car's most defining feature. It's quite likely that you've never seen a rod like this outside of a magazine or national show.
The stunning interior doesn't take a back seat to the bodywork. and was crafted entirely from scratch in tan leather by the guy's at Gabe's (you know. the guys who did all of Boyd Coddington's rods). As much art as function. it nonetheless offers a comfortable place to cruise and is finished to show standards. Everything you can touch was hand-made. from the low-slung bench seat to the beautifully bound carpets that hug the contours of the floor perfectly. The door panels are works of art all by themselves. and the car's overall minimalist design extends to the dash which holds just a single gauge pod with beautiful Classic Instrument gauges that handle only the basics. Why do you need more? No A/C. no heat. not even a radio will detract from the purity of this rod. Eve the trunk is finished to be shown. with access panels hiding the inner workings.
Power comes from the stout. reliable Chevy Corvette LT1 small block. Finished to match the body. it looks like some kind of futuristic power cell clad in a custom intake cover that hides all the working parts. The stock valve covers were painted and dressed up with chrome bolts. and it's fed by a custom air filter that fits just right. With 300 horsepower on tap. performance is explosive. but that's not really the point. This is art. and every single component on this car was massaged. finished. polished. or painted to create an incredible presentation that will make people stop in their tracks. A 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission makes it easy to drive. and the suspension is fully independent so this sucker clings like Velcro to the corners. Heck. even the exhaust system is a sculpture! Staggered Boyd Coddington billet wheels wear 195/55/15 front and 295/55/17 rear wheels for the perfect rake.
Impressive doesn't even begin to cover this rod!
