This 69 SS 396 Chevelle has all of the hallmarks to make it a fantastic restored car including paperwork. born with drivetrain.  excellent color combination and options.  I purchased this 1969 L-78 Chevelle last year from the estate of the original owner. it was last registered in 1972. In January of 1969 he was a talented young mechanic working in his fathers service station. A couple of his friends worked for the Chevrolet dealer and were doing their best to pull him away from his dads shop to work with them. In an effort to keep him at the service station his father told him that he could go to the dealer and order whatever car he wanted within reason. This is the car he ordered. Lemans blue. parchment white bench seat. L78. TH400. tach & gauges. 4speaker 8trk. rear antenna. rosewood wheel & F40 Suspension. Back in 72 he was out running the car one weekend night and broke a lifter(still in the engine) and brought the car back to the shop. The garage was filled with customer cars so the Chevelle had to sleep outside for the weekend. By Monday  morning when he returned the intake. carb. distributor etc. were missing. In his frustration the car was parked and covered. this was the last time the car was ever driven. It still retains its original KF engine. CX transmission and KF 3. 55 rear. Unfortunately over the 40 years that it was behind the shop covered with a tarp people robbed whatever they could carry away so the radio/8trk. steering wheel. even the hood went missing. The tach and gauges. stereo kick panels and sport wheel horn contact are there.  It's documented with partial Framingham build sheet typical for cars from this plant. original 3/8 fuel line. high horse tach and of course the original drivetrain. The engine is the original short block. all other components are gone. The car has sat outdoors since around 1972 so it needs all that you would expect.  The car will need fenders. work on the lower quarters. floors have a small hole in the passenger rear seat pan (under the seat) as well as some pin holes in the front wiring harness channel etc.   Please ask all questions prior to bidding.   PayPal deposit of $500 due upon purchase and payment in full to be completed within 7 days of auctions end.  The car has no title and will be sold with the transferable NY registration and bill of sale only (NY is a non title state on cars prior to 1970).   Thank you.
