Here is my Rover V8 powered MkII Cortina.

This came into my hands as is. and was not built by me. It drives nice. starts on the button (quite literally).

It will have 12 months Mot and tax this week.

Specification

V8 Engine:

Vitesse heads. standard valves. port matched to inlet manifold. Performer inlet manifold. 500cfm Edelbrock carburettor. Edelbrock air cleaner assembly. Unique rocker covers. Standard valve train. Real Steel Viper Typhoon Cam. Real Steel hi-rev anti pump lifters. Cloyes tru roller duplex timing chain. ARP rod bolts. ARP studs in main bearing caps. Lightened and balanced flywheel. 55 psi pressure relief spring in oil pump. Mallory electronic distributor. Bedford CF radiator with enlarged core and twin electric fans.

Front suspension.

1600E struts. 250lb/in 2 1/4 coil springs on adjustable platform. 1600E shocks. shortened. 2. 8i Capri discs and calipers. Capri track control arms. Capri anti-roll bar. Capri top mounts.

Rear suspension.

2. 8i Capri LSD axle. CD8 Escort rally springs. 2. 8i shocks. Custom made tramp bars utilising 1600E bushes. Custom made panhard rod using same bushes.

Propshaft made at NW propshafts using heavy duty 2. 8i UJ's.

Gearbox.

2. 8i Capri 5 speed manual box. Rover V8 bellhousing. Capri 2. 0 clutch cable. Rover 3. 5 SDI clutch.

Other stuff.

Front seat are Corbeau GTS recliners. There is some wear on the drivers bolster. Cortina 1600E clocks. 2 speed wiper motor. Holley blue top fuel pump and regulatorHigh security door locks. New front and rear windscreen rubbers.

It has good tyres all round. mounted on the 15 inch Compromotive alloys with locking wheel nuts.

It has a towbar that is built in to the chassis of the car behind the rear valance. The towball and bolts are in the boot for towing a caravan to Santa Pod or shows etc. The electrics are just below frenched into the valance.

It has a 'discreet' rollcage built in - therefore. no headlining.

It is painted in Audi Tornado Red.

It will have a grille fitted this week. along with a stereo and some other bits and pieces.

It will also be mot'd and taxed.

The car used to be yellow. I am guessing that a lot of people will know more about the car than I know and many will remember it. I would be pleased to know more myself. as there is not that much history with it.

Sadly. it has to go. The V5 is in my name having had 9 former keepers.

It is a very solid car - there has been welding done in the past. maybe repairs. maybe strengthening. but I am guessing that it has spent much of its later life in garages. so it hasn't rotted the way others have.

I may be interested in part exchanges within eBay rules. with projects or other interesting cars or boats. plus cash my way.
