1970 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe 4 speed W-30 project Cutlass for sale
Current customer rating: (264 votes ) based on1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. W-30 Holiday Coupe.
True Barn find.
This Oldsmobile was recently pulled out of a Barn after many years of long term storage.
Original color / trim combination per original trim tag. White body. no vinyl top and black bucket seat interior and Black stripes.
It is a project car needing total and complete restoration.
It is missing the original engine. it has no engine. missing original transmission. has no trans. It is missing all of the engine bolt on items as well as the original radiator and red fenderwells.
If it is not listed here. it does not come with the sale of the car.
Based on our experience with Oldsmobiles. buying. selling and restoring them. we believe. without a reasonable doubt that this 442 was indeed optioned from GM as a W-30. W-Machine Package.
We have no other proof and/or documentation. No factory or dealer docs exist for this car.
We have history with the prior three owners and all will verfy that this 442 was born with the W-30 option. We have also been contacted by local enthusisats who have known this car for years as it sat in the barn. Contact info is available to serious bidders.
If you do not believe it is a W-30. then bid on it as a 442. 4 speed Holiday Coupe (Only 3. 20 produced).
There were only 3. 00 W-30s produced in all models for 1970. of those only 1. 32 were 4 speed Holiday Coupes.
There were numerous plants producing 442s in 1970. but only the Lansing Michigan plant produced W-30s including Canadian sold cars.
Please note that the 1970. 4 speed W-30 had it's own special cam (not available with the automatic). The 4 speed unlike the automatic could not be ordered with A/C and manual disc brakes were required because of the low vacuum with the big 328 degree Cam.
This Olds was parked in the late 1970s. from what we have been told. The odometer shows only 46. 47 miles. It was in the process of an amateur resto. the engine and trans came out for a rebuild and were eventually stolen along with some other key components.
Aftermarket 1/4 panel. partial skins and some minor body work and priming had been performed.
Based on the original and unrestored condition of the car we believe that the options on the car are original to it.

This Olds was NOT equipped with a Rocket Rally Pack nor a 4 core radiator. These were available options but not mandatory for a W-30.
The original floor and rockers are in great shape. The original 4 speed tunnel has not been tampered with.
We removed the carpeting and threw it away do to the smell the mice family had left behind. There was very little to no extra sound deadening material on the floors and or in the doors. deck lid and under the floor pans.
The floor pans. trunk. drop offs extensions are very solid.
The frame is solid as is the structure of the car. The window molding channels and front dash have very little rust and no visible rust through.
There is some repairable rot on the edge of the deck lid and the lower portion of the rear 1/4 extensions.
The doors are very solid.
All of the glass including the windshield are original. but for one 1/4 glass.
The core support is solid and one fender is original with W-30 factory punched holes. W-30 crayon markings and job number on the inside. while the other is a GM replacement.
Both Bumper cores are replateable.
The W-25 hood is in very nice shape.
The original 4 speed shifter is included but no shift rods.
The original 4 speed consol is restorable.
We believe that this car should be saved and restored back to its former glory as one of the pinnacle Muscle Cars of the 1970s.
