This is a 1971 Chevrolet C-10 three door suburban “Zephyr 54” ambulance. It was originally converted into an ambulance by the Modular Ambulance Corporation of Dallas Texas. It is truly a rare find!
This unit was built for and purchased by the Roy Fire Department in Roy New Mexico where it served this small village for over 20 years. Although the recent historical information is vague at best. it is understood that it became a yard ornament for many years before being purchased by a gentleman in Michigan who intended to restore it. After several years of working on this project. it was sold to a Paramedic in North Carolina who restored it to its current condition.

Attached you will find photographs that accurately depict the current condition of this unit. It is currently garaged at an out of business volunteer rescue squad. Monthly driving checks. occasional car shows and parades are about all of the action that is sees. It is 100% roadworthy and will run as far as your gas budget will allow.
Everything is operational except the “frosty air” air conditioning system. Seasonal temperatures did not justify the expenditure to repair it.
It currently has only 67. 00 original miles. The motor and body are solid.
Time is running out on the storage lease and unfortunately for the owner. it must find another home.
