This auction is for a COMPLETE numbers matching /date code correct 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster equipped with the 427/425HP L72 option. The engine numbers all check out with no signs of tampering. s does the engine production date code. This is coupled to the correct bellhousing that the original Muncie M21 transmission mounts to. The VIN is correctly stamped on trans. case with no signs of tampering. The rear end is the factory original equipped with a 3. 70 posi traction its date code also checks out. All the ancillary engine components (ie: starter. alt. arb etc) are all correct part numbers and date codes where applicable. We have gone part by part in the drivetrain to verify part numbers and date codes so when I say "numbers matching" I mean it ! The drivetrain (complete) was professionally restored 3850 miles ago and runs better than new. the engine sounds and runs  amazing. the car drives even better. everything feels tight. no rattles. no "funny" noises. just pure power! There are no obvious fluid leaks. the car does not overheat . starts easily hot or cold. The suspension and brakes are all in excellent condition. the brake system was freshened up in 2011 when the correct master cylinder was found and installed. The rims are indeed the original equipped Kelsey Hayes rims with PN 306065 on all 5. they are in excellent condition. it has Firestone gold stripe tires on the car that were purchased in 2010 and are like new.

The car had undergone a "body on" restoration  at the same time as the powertrain sometime in the mid 90s. It is finished in the cars original  Laguna Blue. There are a few paint issues which are documented in the pics . most of the issues are scratches. there are two fixable fissures in the hood where the scoop starts at the front edge of hood. they may be hard to see in pics but run along the first 4 inches of the hood scoop. There are 5 noticeable chips & scratches also in pics. One chip is the top of RR quarter panel on the speed line. one chip is the edge of driver door. there is a scratch on the driver side of top flap near the latch hole. there are 2 scratches near each other on the top of RF fender. By the looks of the luster of the paint job these should be easy fixes and blends. The other paint issue is there is some slight paint lifting on the bottom of the driver door. it appears to be a patch of chemical "pop" bubbles . again a fairly easy fix for a professional painter. The undercar presents well. there does not appear to have ever been any nose or tail repairs done to it. the only repairs of note are in the rear floor boxes . it looks as though it had the inner U joints blow out and damaged the floor. This was repaired fairly nicely. there are pics showing this. There is also some overspray (very minimal) from crossmember painting that got on the floorpans.

The dark blue interior and white convertible top are in excellent shape and were done at the same time as the body. The dash and instrument cluster are perfect and all gauges work and are accurate. The clock . AM/FM radio and power antennae all work. The original Teak steering wheel is in excellent condition as well. The underdash wiring looks to be in good condition with no "hacking" evident. everything looks like it did when it was built.

I am representing the estate in the sale of this fine car. its history beyond 2008 is not certain and unfortunately the owner of the car has passed away. We are working on finding any and all documents that he might have had associated with the car and should hopefully have them in hand before auctions end. What is known is that when he originally purchased the car it was inspected by an NCRS judge who gave the green light on the sale. that same judge helped him get the car "correct". Estate estimates show over $140. 00. 00 was spent on the car between purchase (2008) and now. If you have ever restored a C2 Corvette you know how fast that can happen. This car can be inspected any time by calling for an appointment. also feel free to call if I can answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. I can be reached at my shop Mon -Fri 8 -6 EST or Sat. 8-2 @954-782-2263 or evenings and weekends @ 954-401-3480 ask for Bob
