ATTENTION COLLECTORS !! I DOUBT YOU WILL EVER FIND ANOTHER ONE OF THESE. SEVERAL WEBSITES AND HISTORIANS SUGGEST THAT ONLY 9 OF THESE TRUCKS WERE MADE IN 1936.

THE FOLLOWING YEAR. 155 UNITS WERE PRODUCED. BRINGING THE TOTAL PRODUCTION OF THE S MODEL DIVCO TO A MERE 164 UNITS. THIS IS THE "SF" SUBMODEL WHICH STANDS FOR SIDE FOLDING DOORS. ONLY PRODUCED FOR TWO YEARS - AN EXTREMELY RARE DELIVERY VAN. MILK TRUCK.

THIS IS A 1936 DIVCO MILK TRUCK ( DETROIT INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE COMPANY ).

THIS GEM HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD FOR 50+ YEARS. SHE WAS STORED IN A BARN AND WILL NEED A COMPLETE RESTORATION. BUT FOR THE MOST PART. IT IS COMPLETE. VERY SOLID FRAME UNDERNEATH

HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM THE J CRIST MUSEUM WEBSITE ARTICLE :

This Divco model was manufactured for only two years. It was first introduced in 1936 and only 9 trucks were manufactured. The next and last year that it was manufactured was 1937 and only 155 trucks were produced that year. So the total production of this Model SF Divco was 164 units. The SF stands for Side Folding doors. This was the first year for side folding doors for Divco. Prior years the trucks had sliding doors that slide inside the sidewall of the truck or on the outside of the body.

This model looks somewhat like the B model Thorne truck as well as International Harvester's Stand & Drive 1935 model. I don't know the reason Divco stopped production of this Model SF in 1937. Around the end of 1937 Divco bought Twin Coach Company and combined the Twin Coach & Divco resulting in a truck call Divco-Twin. Around this time Divco was also planning to produce their ultra modern UM model which became the standard delivery truck for the Dairy Industry.

At this present time there are only 5 of these trucks known to be in existence. John Rienzo. Jr. . the Divco Club's Historian. has just completed refurbishing one of these SF model Divcos.

THIS DIVCO STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL CONTINENTAL C400 MOTOR WHICH IS NOT LOCKED UP AND WILL TURN BY HAND.

I CAN HELP LOADING VEHICLE IF NEEDED. I CAN ASSIST IN SETTING UP SHIPPING IF NEEDED. ITEM WILL NEED COMPLETE RESTORATION. AND IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING. IT ROLLS AND STEERS FINE.
