This is an original survivor 1967 Mercury Cougar. I bought this car in my neighborhood from the original elderly owner. I have loads of records and receipts. I was going to paint this car and keep it with my collection. I have decided not to do so as I have to many projects. This car was recently spotted in my neighborhood ( Hidden Valley )by a writer from Road and Track Magazine. Go to Road and Track / 1967 Cougar and you should be able to read the article. The writer was correct in that it's original other then the hubcaps were fake plastic as someone stole the originals, I have since put on the correct hubcaps. The color was changed some 20 odd years ago, the owner said she never liked the original fawn color and went with a dark green. At the time I think it was a decent paint job but the years haven't been kind and the clear coat is a mess. The body lines are very straight and I see only one area where it may have had minimal body work on the passenger door. There is also rust in a few areas around the rear window, easy fix if your capable. I just put on a new set of Radials as the old tires were out of round from sitting. I also replaced the carburetor with a factory correct numbers matching unit. This car runs and drives very well! I would probably want to adjust the front brakes as they pull a little to the left when braking hard. The transmission shifts very smoothly but does have a small leak from the pan gasket. It may benefit from a new set of plugs, but all in all this car starts right up and runs strong, actually it's quite nice. The interior is very nice with no rips or wear marks. There is something going on with the front seat bracket, not sure if its broken or a bolt is out. I can't seem to see the problem. I put a small piece of metal behind the drivers seat so that it doesn't lean and this seems to work fine. The headlight doors are stuck open, common problem that I have not addressed . There seems to be a small leak around the front windshield somewhere, as I had a small amount of water came in after a very heavy rainfall. This Cougar is very tight and quiet and should be an excellent investment for someone as these are getting harder and harder to find. You'll also notice some chrome has peeled off on the rear bumper. This is a completely  numbers matching 1967 Mercury Cougar. Please don't make an offer to buy unless you have the funds, I will ignore stupid offers so don't bother. I will need full payment within three days, Bank to Bank wire is the safest way for both of us, I will of course accept CASH in person. I would like the car picked up within 7-10 days after the purchase and I will require a $500.00 deposit right after purchase. If you need to talk with your significant other, do so before buying the car. I'm a good seller so please be a good buyer , no cons or B.S. Please! If you have questions you can reach me through eBay or call 1-805-453-8368. This is a solid Cougar! I will work with U.S. and Canadian buyers, the car is in my name and I hold clean title. Thanks for looking. Naturally the cost of shipping is the buyers responsibility.
