1988 CITROEN CX 25 GTi TURBO 2 BLACK WITH BLACK LEATHER AND WORKING AIRCON

To most CX enthusiasts this is the most desirable of them all being the GTi Turbo 2 in Black with Black leather. and coming with no sunroof and Aircon (which works fine and has just been re-gassed).
As you can see in the pictures this is a stunning looker and it drives every bit as good as it looks.
There are no mechanical faults evident and it benefits from recent replacement of both rear arm bearings (this is a huge job on a CX and a Specialist would easily charge you £500 for both sides). It has had all 6 spheres replaced with new LHM fluid too (this would easily cost £200 in just parts. New rear brake pads were fitted too. Cosmetically it benefits from refurbished correct "T" slot Turbo wheels and a replaced headlining (again neither of these are cheap jobs and £500 would be expected to do both).
The car came to me from a multi CX owner who is without doubt one of the best CX technical brains in the country - many of you will have watched his YouTube videos both via my website and YouTube as well. He had the car for over a year and he actually converted this car to right hand drive as it came to the UK in 2010 from Switzerland. When converting the car he merely put a second hand speedo in with the existing mileage that was on the speedo - this means the speedo reads 152. 00 Miles but the car had done 192. 00 KMs at the time of conversion - so the actual mileage is 120. 00 miles (the speedo reads 32. 00 more than the car has done). this has been noted in the service book. Talking of which there are 21 stamps in service book for it's Swiss history (mainly Citroen Main dealer).
Other points to note are it has a CD player fitted. the central dash display has 3 perfect windows with just the least important outside temperature not working correctly. Unlike many of these with leather this is proper GTi Turbo interior with the correct door cards fitted too. The electric windows all work and do not run slow as they can do. The headlights still maintain good silver in them which is quite unusual too. The bodywork. as you can see is very nice. there are no rust areas or dents. It has a rear window louvre which is marmite so if you do not want it I am happy to deduct £50 from the price if you do not have it.
If you have never driven one of these then you should as they are like nothing else to drive. The GTi Turbo is unlike any other CX to drive. In their day they had more torque per foot than Sierra Cosworth's and of course they are oh so smooth. not just in the ride but the power delivery too. They are very long legged and easily soak up motorway miles and indeed most cars in front of them! I do know people who claim to have achieved in excess of 140 MPH from these and that on a magic carpet ride. The CX has long lived in the shadow of the DS but is really starting to become much sought after in it's own right. and the popularity just keeps growing. In the last two months alone I personally have had two CXs magazine featured and another feature is soon to be done by top classic car magazine Classic and Sportscar which is excellent for the marque. Naturally on the back of this prices will continue to rise and I have left this car at the price I was selling these quite a few years back so i will definitely not be accepting any offers -  although am always happy to discuss a part exchange. It is a very good car and excellent value for money.
I have just taxed it and I intend to drive it until it is sold. I can collect you from the local train station in March or arrange reliable delivery for you.

This is really quite a rare car with this spec and is highly prized - I have not had one of this spec for at least 18 months so please consider this when you are thinking about this car.
