This listing is for a newly imported 1962 Chevrolet C10 half ton short wheelbase panel van. This has the V8 350 cu in engine and TH 350 automatic transmission. These vans drive better than the older pickups and vans as they have torsion bar front suspension. It has disc brakes on front. drums on rear.

I have fitted a new electric fuel pump and it starts. runs. drives and stops just fine. Tyres are like new. as is the full twin exhaust. All glass is good. windows wind up and down. a bit tight. but they do work. The van still has it's original seats which need very little. just a couple of splits in driver's one. These are extremely rare to find nowadays.

Body work looks good. but as it is in primer and was done n the States. I cannot guarantee what may be underneath. but suffice to say wheelarch lips. etc are all there and in good condition which is an indication of little or no rot in other places. Some bubbling to bottom of passenger front wing.

The price above is for the van "as-is" with import papers ready to register after it gains it's MOT.

What it needs for the MOT: UK spec headlights. some wiring of lights as tail lights stay on and headlights are dim. horn not working. wipers not working. handbrake cables need replaced. one track rod end and both bottom ball joints. Welding wise. have a look at pics 10 and 11 and you will see the front body outriggers are holed. one goes a bit onto the outer sill. the other goes a bit into the inner sill. and corner of floor pan. This is a simple repair if you can use the mig.

The parts are already ordered and should be here soon and are included in the price supplied but not fitted. they cost me about £600. So. price with the parts supplied but not fitted and with USA documents and duties paid is £7500. and price with the work done. on the road. registered and ready to use is £8500.

The last pic is of a '50 Chevy panel van currently on the way over from California. I don't know much about it other than it is running a 6 cylinder and three speed manual gearbox. I don't know by what method it has been lowered. probably just by de-arching the springs. It is sitting on 100 spoke wire wheels. circa 10K if interested.

Rare truck. hard to find in the States. so no daft offers please. No part ex and no swaps please don't even ask. I can arrange professional delivery anywhere on UK mainland at very competitive prices. Any questions. please ask. Thanks for reading so far!

Although we are based in Central Scotland. please do not let this be an issue for you as I pride myself on my descriptions and must add that on my other accounts and via magazines. I have never ever failed to sell a car to the first person who travels to see it! If you know what you are looking for. and do decide to come and see. I can assure you the car will be as described here. There is no point in me telling lies about a car. as. quite simply. when you come and see it. you will not buy it if it's not as described. so. a big waste of time for me and a waste of time and money for you. I have no wish to deceive any potential buyer. I've been on the receiving end of that in the past. travelling many hundreds of miles to see something very much different from what was described to me. I aim to change that as a business seller. I'd rather gain a new friend and not sell you a car than sell you something and make a new enemy!! I am an enthusiast first and business man second.

If you want to come and look. I can pick you up at Edinburgh Airport. or Linlithgow or Falkirk rail stations and return you after your visit. I can arrange delivery for you at your cost. London area is about £360 incl VAT as an example.

Sorry to do this folks. but I must add a note here for people who may not think some things through properly. I cannot and will not take a swap on anything. To explain. you want to swap me something. therefore yours is available for sale here in the UK. Why would I go to the bother of buying a vehicle unseen in the USA. take the chance that the seller may rip me off. spend money shipping it. unload the container. pay all the duties. VAT. etc. then simply swap it for something I could have bought here without going to all that bother. not to mention my money being tied up for at least three months awaiting the arrival. This is a business. you go to work to earn your wages so you can eat. etc. I sell imports to do the same. Swaps do not put food on the table. I hope all reading understand where I'm coming from with this. I keep my prices tight so can't pay over the odds for a trade in either. remember I'm the dealer. I can't drop my price to break even then pay you retail for a trade in. no vehicle sales business will ever do that. it's financial suicide. If you want to give me a trade in. I will talk to you. BUT. my price is firm in that case and your trade must be of a cost that I can make something on it too. I also wont take a trade of something I can't sell. 'cause if you've been trying to sell it and can't. then I can't either. simple really. I prefer to deal on a straight sale basis. I write this as I am getting fed up with many e-mail and phone conversations. followed by sending lots of pics. etc to interested parties. only to find that after a few days of time wasting. all they really want to do is swap me for something of lower value or something they have had no luck trying to sell. Don't get me wrong. if after a few days of talks and pics. you decide my vehicle isn't for you. that's no problem. that's not time wasting (as long as you didn't tell me it was definitely for you then change your mind!). Many thanks for reading and understanding.
