Ford escort mk1 mark 1 1300gt 2 door manual 1970

This is my very solid and rare square light 1970 1300gt 2 door. It is fully roadworthy with every single switch and lever working as it should including the heater blower. Its a very nice car. It was originally in the UK but was snapped up by an eager Irish chap who wanted to bring it back to Ireland in 2011. He owned it for 2 years. in this time he restored it to a very nice standard. the standard you see today. I bought it from him recently simply because it was such a nice car and in the lovely flat blue which just does something to me. as you can see! I did a good old fashioned valet after driving it 1000 miles. now I use it the odd day. its just great. so economical compared to my other vehicles and  receives compliments everywhere you go! Unfortunately I have no more storage left to keep this one. having said that I would be happy to find extra space if its not snapped up for the right price. It drives very nicely. rockets along at 85MPH on the motorway and is a very nimble. fun machine on the country roads. There are no wheel bearing groans or whines. temp is rock solid on a quarter. there are no horrible knocks or creaks. no bangs from the suspension and definitely no horrible colours of smoke coming from the exhaust. warm or cold. I'd say it is tuned to perfection by someone who really knew these little engines. It obviously has the special carb on it. with a K&N filter which has  a lovely induction sound and a very quiet and smooth close ratio gearbox. The tyres are new. the wheels are also in excellent condition. there is no wobbles or phasing at any speeds. The brakes pull up straight and true. The sills and floor is rock solid. boot floor is clean and solid. All in all its a really great little car. always puts a smile on your face. I have a few extra pics if required. but please request only if you have an interest in purchasing this amazing little car. It is a perfect candidate to convert into a rally car. twin cam. rs conversion etc. very solid tub with not much welding. It would be a shame to mess with it though as it seems quite original and lovely as is. It is still on Irish plates but can be re-imported onto UK plates free of charge. just requires a little patience and some administration. I am happy to drive/deliver the car to the UK for £200. I have a house in Yorkshire if this is of any interest regarding pick up. The car is road legal to drive on Irish and UK roads as long as you have your own insurance. The car is definitely maintained to (UK) MOT standards. I am happy to put a UK MOT certificate on for the winning bidder for the price of the ticket. Alternatively you can take it as is.
