Hartwell Avenger - Fully Restored

This immaculately prepared car was originally built by Team Hartwell in Bournemouth back in 1970 as a demonstrator for their sprint conversion clubman's competition cars. Their specifications included big valve head. high lift cam. twin 40 Webbers. exhaust manifold & system. lightened & balance bottom end. Koni suspension with team Hartwell springs front & rear. minilite magnesium alloys & Goodyear Rally specials and a competition seat.

This car has been restored with localised repairs for the sake of originality and a pain staking preparation to original Hartwell specification except for now being installed with an upgraded 1600 engine. fully rebuilt gearbox and strengthened axle. This is also complimented with the fitting of a brand new 4 branch manifold slipping into a 2 inch exhaust system. The new engine also has been professionally lightened & balanced. high lift cam. TI pistons. ported & polished big valve head & twin 40 Webbers. This engine is running very well and currently being carefully run in.

All new suspension set up is taken care of through NOS Koni front inserts. Armstrong adjustable rear shockers. negative camber cross member and competition bushes fitted throughout. All new braking has been installed including brand new master cylinder. brake pipes. callipers. wheel cylinders pads & shoes with everything running on genuine magnesium minilite alloys fitted with brand new tyres.

The black interior seating is immaculate however there are 2 racks on the top of the dash as is to be expected from time to time on original cars. New carpet under felt and boot mat are fitted and even the front headlight & indicator units are new.

This original car has been used mainly for demonstration purposes in its early years and was also "featured as a test car in “Motor Magazine” under the heading of “112mph In an Avenger".

 This very rare care is polished up and now ready for a genuinely reluctant sale and being supplied with full MOT & Tax.
