mk2 escort fully restored and with lots of modifications. I bought this car as a standard 1. 3 popular plus. striped it down to a bare shell then had the underside engine bay. door frames. door pillars and boot sandblasted. Then the new wings. inner wings. full sills and inner and outer rear wheel arches were welded in. the floor pans and boot floor were very good and didn't need any repairs. The gearbox tunnel was changed for an automatic one to take a type 9 gearbox. the door frames needed minor repairs and two new old stock skins were fitted on the front doors. the bonnet and boot lid were both in good condition. The shell has been professionally painted in subaru impreza blue. The engine is a silver top zetec bored to 2. 1 with a ported head and fast road cams with twin 40 dhla carbs and webcon 3d ignition system. It has a four branch exhaust manifold and full stainless steel exhaust system. It has an oil cooler and a modified flywheel to take a 2. 0 litre sierra clutch. it has an alloy rs 2000 bell housing and clutch fork and type 9 gearbox. rs 2000 two piece prop shaft and 1600 rear axle. It has capri 2. 8 front struts. vented front discs with four pot calipers. a world cup cross member and fully poly-bushed suspension. the rear brakes are sierra xr4x4 discs and calipers and it also has an adjustable bias pedal box. The interior is fully carpeted. all the door cards have been re-trimmed. it has front bucket seats with four point harnesses. the rear seats have been removed and the space boxed in and carpeted. it has a colour coded six point roll cage and there is a radio cassette player with ten disc multi-changer. In the engine bay there is a strut brace. polished cam cover and alternator and it has a two stage electric cooling fan and sierra alloy radiator. The car has been on the rolling road to have the carbs set up and the ignition mapped but the engine has not been pushed to see what horse power it is due to the engine being newly built but he expected that when its run in and fine tuned that it will be about 165-170 bhp.  I have not mot-ed this car yet as i was going to do it next spring but due to a change in family circumstances i think i should sell it. in my opinion it is ready for mot. I have the V5 log book in my name but have not changed the engine size or the colour in it yet. I would strongly advise anyone interested in it to come and view it first. it is located just off the Wincanton turning on the A303. please do not offer me stupidly low sums of money for it because i'm not that desperate to sell it!!!!  Please do not email me questions about it as i don't have much access to a computer. please phone me on 07979640346 with any questions.
