Low Mileage, Excellent Condition, All Original 1947 Ford Super Deluxe V-8 Coupe!

People often talk about what is the "best" old car to own. Well. my vote is for an early Ford V8. They're about as reliable as old cars can get. And all of the parts are plentiful and easily found! Take this All Original. low mileage 1947 Ford Super Deluxe coupe. for example. It's quick. nimble. and a ton of fun to drive. It also has classic 1940's styling. This is truly a great machine.



Repainted only once in the late 1990's. this lovely Ford Deluxe is a solid. low mileage car that never had any rust or dents. It still looks fresh. thanks to expert care and not a lot of use since it was completed.  Washington Blue paint always looks right on the fat fendered Fords of the 1940s. and despite more than 15 years since it was painted. it still has an awesome shine. The paint looks traditional and just the way Henry intended it. back in the day. There are a few minor spots where the paint is cracked on the trunk lid but these are hard to notice and overall it looks great. There's also plenty of bright trim. most of which is stainless. which has either been polished or rechromed. This one also includes optional Ford fog lights and grill guard. which are very desirable period accessories.



The interior is all original in Bedford cord. The upholstery remains in excellent condition with no rips or tears. and only shows some slight wear on the upper back seat corners. not bad for 65 years! The steering wheel is restored and frames a full complement of gauges with cool textured faces and crisp numbers. Everything works as it should. even the clock! It has a Correct heater underneath that's remarkably effective on cool evenings. It also includes an optional “Town and Country” AM radio in the dash. The trunk is well equipped with carpeting and a matching spare.



Ford's flathead V8 is one of those machines that you just have to experience at least once in your life. This one springs to life easily and has a silky smooth idle that's characteristic of the breed. A correct Holley 94 carburetor and a well hidden electric fuel pump handle the intake duties. and it carries a standard single exhaust system that sounds suitably smooth but with a hint of V8 rumble underneath. The 3-speed manual transmission is easy to shift with the column-mounted shifter. All the equipment is correct and it cruises easily at modern highway speeds. Tall BFG wide whites look great on original steel wheels with trim rings and hubcaps.



Stock fat-fendered V8 Fords are not too common these days. and this one works so well you'll never even consider the alternatives. As it says in the framed 1947 ad that features this very same blue coupe. "There is a Ford in your future!" Good luck and happy bidding!!
