This is a very rare and beautiful early car. it is a 1913 Philos Ballot Tourer finished in Green with Black leather. It is UK registered and was sold to the previous owner. in the early nineties. by the famous Kent based car dealer David Baldock. a renowned expert in rare cars of this vintage. The car also comes with Austrian papers and has been in the previous owners possession for over 22 years.

The automobile manufacture Philos. began in 1912. more than 100 years ago. Philos started to build motorcars in Lyon. France. The company name “Philos” stands for the Greek word “Friend” or “love”. The words “Agape”. “Philos”. and “Eros” are taken from the Greek language and are three different expressions of love that are available.

Philos at that time used the already established Ballot engines which were one of the best engines available and also that company was renowned for their first V8 and very successful Grand Prix engines. Philos created cars with four cylinder engines with a cubic capacity of 1131cc. manufactured by Ballot. Production ceased after the interruption of the war. however was resumed again in 1919.

The specific car offered today sports a Brass V-Shaped Radator and Brass headlamps with electric bulbs and a klaxon combined with this very attractive double phaeton coachwork.

A similar Philos is dislayed today in the Haus of Fritz Schlumpf Bugatti collection in Mulhouse. Musee Nationale D' Automobile. Alsace.

This is a very opportunity to purchase a beautiful French voiturette in a lovely original condition. it runs and drives as it should and is ready for its next owner.

I am interested in the Philos that you advertised. Do you have UK documents for it, and do you know the engine type and number ?
thanks
Jeremy
