1965 Corvette Convertible Rare Factory Original Triple Black!!! 406 CI 470HP Fuel Injected Engine. Beautiful Black Exterior with an equally good-looking Black Interior. finished with a stunning. well-tailored Black "Hartz" Cloth Top. Let's start at the beginning. This car spent it's first 50 years in dry New Mexico. resulting in a no-rust well preserved car. It was one of the last 80 cars produced on the final day of 1965 production. and sold new by Galles / Groesbeeck Chevrolet in Albuquerque New Mexico. Originally a 365 HP car. but with an engine that had been decked. leaving it a no-longer numbers match car. A 406 CID 4 bolt main Block with a cast crankshaft. 350 Rods. 10. 25 Compression Ratio. Forged Pistons. Air Flow Research Heads with Screw-In Studs. Roller Rockers and Cam. The Icing on the cake is a Rochester Fuel Injection Unit with a mid 64 production date that has been professionally rebuilt with all of the best components! The FI unit has been installed and made to look as if original. including an FI radiator support. The S- Tube. air filter housing and elbow are all made of Fiberglass and look as if factory. right down to the printed instructions for servicing the air filter. To the untrained eye. this looks exactly like an original Fuelie except one that runs and sounds fantastic! Equipped with a wide ratio 4 speed manual transmission with improved shifter. coupled to a 3:55 posi-traction rear. all rebuilt of course. Brake system. suspension. driveline. all re-done. The exhaust is fitted with reproductions of the 3 baffle. off-road mufflers. which give it just the right amount of sound! most of the interior has been renewed with new carpet. door panels. rebuilt window regulators and door hardware. speedometer. tachometer. gauge cluster. even a rebuilt radio and mechanical clock that works! American Torque-Thrust M Wheels with Gloss Black Centers and 235/55/17 Yokahama tires. power steering. power antenna. and more! The black paint is simply superb. and the wheels play well with the top and paint! The FI emblems add just the right touch to the exterior!
