1960 mercury monterey

original 312y block 8 cylinder 5. 1L

original 3 on the tree MANUAL

dual straight pipe glass pack exhaust. sounds fantastic.

found out the two tone was original to this car. check the last picture for possible restored condition and example of the factory two tone.

runs and drives. shifts and stops as she should.

A beautiful and rare American classic near original.

all lights and signals are working. horn does not

2" rear body drop and she sits so pretty(I can put back to original height for buyer if desired).

Overall the car is very dry and rust free. the floor pans and trunk pans look great!! And they are solid not one hole. nbsp;never patched or painted. Couple small surface spots and a couple scratches and dings here and there. Paint is not show car material but has a nice patina that still looks great.  99% of this car is solid and dry. nbsp;under carriage is solid and dry. nbsp;previous owner treated it with a rubber undercoating years ago so it has prevented the loads of rust that comes with this age vehicle. the frame looks new underneath the weatherproofing.

This car has a tendency to attract lots of people. and many conversations. This is a classic big body sled. /strong> With her wide square body. the roof has a lower line to it than most cars this era. all the trim is there as you see in the pictures. She is as big as an EXCURSION. front to back and side to side to give you an idea of floorspace occupied.

fires right up.  dual glass pack straight pipes sound awesome. has been completely overhauled to bring her back as a driver. she sat for a while previously.

heres a list as to the recent work done with receipts:

carb rebuilt by raleigh carburetor a month ago. water pump. fuel pump. fuel filter. thermostat and gasket. all coolant hoses. fuel lines and hoses. brake lines and fittings. master cylinder. belt. brake shoes. wheel cylinders. air filter. distributor. points. wires. spark plugs. nbsp;fresh oil. fresh coolant. fresh alignment. valve adjustment. brand new yokomo radial tires(less than a hundred miles). complete coolant system flush(radiator. heater core. engine block). fuel tank boiled. zero leaks. battery and starter were tested and found to be good. the brakes are good. no sponge sticking soft brakes.

original hub caps. original stereo too(doesnt really work. I would just install a modern one hidden and leave the original). front and back glass are original no cracks or aftermarket glass.   gas gauge works too.

Interior will need finishing. I removed the old carpet because it smelled and was very dirty. I have not had any of the interior done because I wanted the pans to be untouched and viewable for buyer to see. many and most cars do not show the truth as to the rust issues. how many classics here on ebay have the floors exposed? again. not one hole even in the trunk!! drivers side has the most of it. headliner needs replacement. original is there. untouched as well. but has tears and discoloring. front bench will need to be re-upholstered or throw a blanket over it works fine too. rear seat looks like it was never used. in my opinion. some carpet is all you really need. id leave the rest. the character of it all is beautiful.

All in all these are extremely minor issues.

its not 100% original but close. nbsp;the 2"rear body drop I mentioned.   I have the original shackles to go with her so you can put it back to original height if desired after pickup.

makes a nice ride as she sits. preference is for the buyer as to which route to go from here.

I am selling the car as you see it for  $6. 00 and shes well worth every penny. (manual 3 on the tree which is much more desirable over the problem plagued merc-o-matic and not hard to learn how to drive. rounded rear window. sedan=RARE) may consider serious cash offers or trade

I am thinking about having the paint re-done. and if I do the price will raise the cost of it.

. clean title.  registered. and insured in my name.

please do your homework. google it. nbsp;check out pictures of others. read up on them. you will see how collectable the most glaring examples of american overstyling are and this car is no exception to that fact.

I welcome you and would prefer you to look the car over in person before purchase. any questions. call me directly at 619 88four OfiveOsix call or text.

Yes.  I am willing to ship anywhere in the world after payment is secured. if you are needing shipping. you will have two options to pay:

1 cashier's check or money order and I WILL NOT release the car until  the funds are clear from any hold.

2. paypal. and you cover their 3% transaction fee

Driving it home across the country: that is up to you. I dont see why it wouldnt make it. nbsp;all that I have stated as part of the description is accurate and anything she needed has been addressed. I personally just try to avoid those kinds of adventures because its hard on any car. let alone a 53 year old one. How you run your machines is up to you though.
