Ford Capri 3000E Mk 1 1972 Pre-facelift

Original Capri 3000E. pre-facelift Mk 1. first reg Feb 1972. 3 litre V6. Silver Fox with black vinyl roof. These cars are now extremely rare. It is in good running condition. this one will have a new MOT. no tax required. I pay insurance less than £80 per year. I have owned the car for 8 years and have driven it only in the summer months. Current mileage reads 64000 miles which I believe to be correct. I am the third owner- the first owner bought the car in 1972 and it was sold to his son when he passed away in 2002. Mr Harris was a hotelier in Dumfries. and only drove the car on his day off. hence the mileage- I do not have MOT's from his day but most recent ones. The car has some history. such as an engine rebuild in 1998. respray in 2002. and various other minor jobs. The car was originally Sapphire Blue. but resprayed Silver Fox. instead of renewing the interior. a black velour interior replaced the original blue seating. doorcards trim etc. This was all very well done and is still unmarked. All of the chrome is in excellent condition. The vinyl roof has 4 small nicks. The body has some small rust bubbles around the headlights and below the trim of the vinyl roof where it meets the rear quarters. Other work has been done which I intended to return to original. Rear lights had been changed to "facelift" ones. I have original style lights. a replacement rear panel and a very nice Ford rear panel in stainless steel which was a period accessory. I thought I had found a nicer set of dials and replaced. then found they were from a V4 and didn't work. Replaced originals but the dials then had an electrical fault which I haven't repaired. Auto electricians not that easily traced up here. I have 7 other Ford classics. including 3 Mk 1 Zephyrs and I need extra space and time to look after those. also to keep a tidier spares shelf- hence this sale soon to be followed by my Reliant Scimitar GT's. I have some spares and original parts which will be included in the saleAll my cars are and have been continually garaged summer and winter. The car can be inspected anytime- it might sound a long way. but there is a main line railway station with direct links to London Kings Cross and Euston. situated within a few yards of the garages. I own the Hotel next to the station. and can offer discount accommodation to any prospective purchaser- a successful buyer will not be charged.
