Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 168 votes

This 1973 914 2. 0 is finished in the very rare Olympic Blue. has original upholstery. original carpets with coco mats laid over top. original steering wheel. original gauges. matching numbers engine. and original exhaust. a 2. 0L flat-four with 100hp. paired to 5-speed manual. Dual Weber carburetors were added in 1982 and the car runs very well with the conversion. The car is equipped with the Appearance group option '73 914 2. 0 "S": center console with gauges. armrest. storage box. loop carpeting. dual horns. chrome bumpers. fuchs alloy wheels. driving lights. front and rear sway bars. leather wrapped wheel and shift boot.

The paint is phenomenal. especially considering it was painted 35 years ago in 1982. The car was spec'd from factory in Olympic Blue. paint code L51P which is pictured on the chassis badge. There is a small. barely noticeable dent on the driver side upper rear quarter panel. A run mark on the inside lip. of the driver side wheel well. No rock chips as the car was only driven in the nicest of conditions. The interior is very original with the exception of the period correct. Blaupunkt cassette head unit and equalizer. There are two cracks on the upper dash housing the gauges. which I have in the photos. There is a chip in the windshield on the passenger side. Carpets are all there and in excellent condition. coco mats are laid over the original carpets. The odometer reads about 19000miles. however the previous owner said it was reset with the 1982 repaint along with engine rebuild. reseal and carburetor conversion. I have the old pistons and valves out of the motor if the new owner wants them as a keepsake. The engine is not burning oil and there is no rust anywhere on the car. Floor pans. trunk trays are all solid and rust free. The battery tray nicknamed ‘hell hole' which is usually rusted is completely rust free.

1973 is a desirable year in the 914 world. because the car still has the chrome bumpers which give the car an elegant clean appearance; however it gets an updated version of the 2. 0 flat 4 which produces 100hp. Being less than 2000lbs. the car has a very visceral feel on a nice twisty road. This car is an excellent opportunity to get into an Air-cooled Porsche Classic at a reasonable cost.
