1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL convertible. Gorgeous!

This beautiful 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL convertible is a jewel. It's so much fun to drive – it accelerates quickly. cruises well. and shifts smoothly in all gears. And it's a looker to boot! It's only had two owners; the seller purchased it from the first owner in 1975.

It underwent a complete. bare-metal. everything-off body restoration in 1991. Since then. it has been garage-kept and not registered for street use since 1995. The restoration included new fenders. floor pans. rocker panels. stainless exhaust system. re-covered seats and dash. trunk floor. and floor mats. All body metal was repaired and welded where needed. Refinished with original color Dupont lacquer. Wood trim and some chrome were refinished and some bright work replaced. The dark-blue soft top was replaced. and the hard top was refinished.

The motor is original. It and the 4-speed manual transmission run smoothly and are in good condition. The power brakes and power steering work well. and the brake pads were replaced at restoration. A new fuel pump was just installed. The car has its original wheels with blue wheel covers. The tires were replaced after restoration. and there's a full-size spare tire.

The dashboard lights work. including gauges. clock. glove box. and air-control levers. The vent controls were replaced at restoration. The interior cabin “Tex” and blue fabric side and rear panels. convertible top hatch cover and levers. door panels. arm rests. window levers. and other trim items are original. It has the original Becker AM/FM radio; the antenna connector is currently disengaged. Car comes with the original Mercedes Benz tool kit and manuals.
