1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback 351 M code with 4 Speed Manual Transmission and factory optioned Hurst Shift. Light Pewter Metallic with black knitted vinyl bucket seats. lack carpets and original Ford Motor Company steel wheels. hrome hub caps and trims fitted with General 2000XP RWL tyres. Factory Front Power Disc Brakes and Power Steering.
This is a numbers matching unrestored time warp example with just 46800 recorded miles from new. Fitted with the Cleveland M code 351 V8 High Compression motor developing 285hp. This developed the same output as the Cobra-Jet of that year and just below the 330hp Boss unit. Like the 351 Boss this car shares the same 4 speed top-loader manual gearbox. lacked out NASA scooped hood and painted lower body sections.
Whilst this car has had some paintwork over the years and is obviously showing signs of its 42 years. t least cosmetically. t is in an exceptional state of preservation. There is no evidence of any of the body panels ever having been replaced or repaired. It has never been under sealed and the underside still retains most of its factory treatment. The door seals and fitments are still riveted in place as fitted at the Dearborn assembly plant and the only part of the original car that has had to be replaced are the carpets. The original Mach 1 high backed bucket seats are virtually unmarked and have never been repaired or appear not even to have been out of the car until now. With the exception of a new Holly carburetor just fitted and a Edlebrock intake manifold the 351 M code engine is in factory trim retaining its original snorkel air cleaner. The engine has healthy oil pressure and pulls strongly. The 4 speed manual gearbox operates perfectly with a surprisingly light clutch.
One of the reasons for this Mustang's unique condition is that it was last issued with a MOT in 1997 at 45985 miles (now 46800) and then put into dry storage for the next 16 years. We have taken the car and re-commissioned it including a complete brakes overhaul. uel tank refurbishment. itted a new Holley 600cfm Street Carburetor. new rear chrome bumper. ervice and MOT. It is licensed (tax exempt of course) until September 2014 along with its MOT. Both sets of original keys with factory tag. ack and spare wheel come with it. Also a complete Mach 1 decal kit.
It is not often a car like this comes to market and offers a opportunity to acquire one of the last of the high performance Mustang's with such a high level of originality. In addition with very rare manual option in just about factory trim. etaining its original and undamaged body with low mileage to boot.
Please feel free to contact me for a full description of this outstanding Mustang. Part exchange is very welcome particularly if classic American.

reviewing the photo's of the backend, the honeycombs around the gas cap area are not present; you mentioned the bumper was replaced, has the back end been modified?
