GT40 Mark Two Goodwood Festival of Speed Car

The Black MKII No2

This car was shown at the 2003 Goodwood Festival of Speed to celebrate Ford Motor Companies 100 years in business and Goodwoods 10 year anniversary. It was also to depict the famous 1-2-3 Le Mans finish for Ford in 1966. Over 158. 00 people saw the three GT40 MKII on the wall display.

This car is the Black MKII hanging from the “Wall”

The original car driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon no 2 almost posed with the No1 car of Ken Miles and Denis Hulme making a close 2nd place and 3rd the Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson. I originally had both the Black and Light blue MKIIs displayed however the Light blue car was sold some years back.

As the actual cars were on track. those displayed are replicas. Full working replicas but with oils and fluids removed. Even loaded with engines and gearboxes most people didn't know that.

The car was also requested to be shown at the Goodwood Revival meeting in 2003 where it displayed with the other MK2s for Scalextric to promote the 2003 Ford GT40 MKII box set.

The car was shown on display at many shows and events for some years but was never registered or used as a road vehicle. It was stored for some time before the bodywork was removed by us to change the entire chassis for a later more upgraded version. It has now been reinstated to the new chassis and made ready for testing. It does require an IVA test (which I will carry out) before it can be registered for the road. It is therefore regarded as a totally new vehicle and will wear a new. or private number plate.

This vehicle will be subject to full inspection by VOSA in order to pass for road worthiness test in compliance to UK regulations. IVA.

As the car is not quite ready I will be taking interested parties enquiries at this time. Spec can be changed to accommodate customers own wishes but only at this stage. Once the final spec is agreed that will be final.

A down payment deposit is required to secure. Final payment on delivery of finished and tested vehicle.

Further details are available on request.

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Richard Wise, dated 28 march 2020
Hi,
I have seen for sale the advert for the GT40 Mk2 replica that was displayed at Goodwood.
I have been looking for a GT40 for some time and have always wanted a MK2.
Could you please send me some more photos of it, engine and engine bay, interior, gear linkage etc? Basically some more detail shots.
What are the wheel hubs, are they 6 pin pindrive or the knock on adaptors you usually see?
What tyres does it have?
What is the exact spec of the engine, who built it, name of company/person.
If I was to buy it from you what sort of warranty would you offer with the car?
Would you give me a discount if I was to buy the car as it is with no IVA?
I look forward to hearing from you,
Rich
