Here I have a 1985 Honda Civic GT for sale. a rare little car now and a bit of a gem if I'm honest!

The GT was essentially Honda's 1st go at a hot hatch. As appose to carbs the engine runs electronic fuel injection. adding performance and economy in one awesome swoop.

In Japan it's referred to as the SI. a lot of the Japanese tuning houses created amazing demo cars using these. Mugen used one as a race car (Available in GT5 if you fancy a digital test drive! Mugen Motul Civic SI)

Bought this car in February this year and have spent much time and effort (and money!) putting her back together to get her running right and looking clean.

The car has tax till March 2014 and MOT until 20th October 2013 – in which I have no doubt in it passing with flying colours.

The car has 109k on the clock. which on average is just less than 4000 miles a year. It starts first time. every time. I cannot complain about the reliability of the car.

For a 28 year old car the interior and exterior is clean and tidy with no rips or tears inside and very few marks on the outside.

The major work on the car has been donr:

Rust on the rear arches. The old arches were removed. new ones welded in and all the ‘car park' dinks were removed. The car has been painted and blended down both wings. The next major work was the gearbox. at first I was told clutch release bearing – more like gearbox bearings and input shaft bearing. The gearbox has been refurbished and runs smoothly. Clutch – at the same time as having the gearbox done I had a new clutch fitted to the car. The clutch has barely done more than 500 miles!

I have spent more money on other various works including replacing the windscreen. new CV joints. new wheels. new tyres. adjustable polybushed panhard rod. Earthing straps have been replaced as the old ones were torn to shreds and barely recognisable. The new wheels are BMW BBS wheels and I have bought D1 spec racing wheel nuts. there is no play in the wheels and it makes the car stick to the road like a train on tracks. To be honest. it might as well be a brand new car! I have the receipts for all work done to the car in the last 6 months.

The drive from the car is something else. handles well. no squeaks. bangs or rattles and is pretty good on petrol considering it's an old car.

In addition to the car itself I also have spares which include tail lights. indicators. front lights. brakes. clutch cable and a Haines manual (which has served me well!)

The only reason for selling this car is because of other commitments and unfortunately I do not have the storage space or time to look after this car anymore.

I want the car to go to a good home. it will be a good first classic to get your hands on as I can't see there being much to go wrong. Or even if it was taken off my hands as a little project.

Viewings are welcome. pictures are available if required. Please do not hesitate to contact me on 07403838166 (however. I will not be able to take phone calls during the week until after 5pm due to work commitments) or e-mail me via eBay.

Hi mate, is the civic still about? I used to own a black GT years ago and I’d love to own another.
