The Veterans of War Foundation is proud to offer this awesome 49 Chevy for sale to raise funds for homeless. disabled and other needy and challenged veterans. Proceeds from this sale will be used to purchase food. clothing and items of warmth and comfort for those who have served our country and are facing difficult times.

This has been an on-going 4 year project. we would not be able to offer this beautiful car at this price without the generosity and support of those who share our passion for helping veterans and others in need. Every component that came stock from the factory has been removed and replaced with late model performance enhancements. the list below identifies the changes

Much much more. honest descriptions should always include what needs repair: the horn does not currently work and the rear door does not lock with a key. passenger door vent window is permanently closed. there are a few tiny places where water still drips in onto the floor mats after we wash the car

This Sedan Delivery. also known in it's day as a Pie Wagon. runs and drives beautifully on the streets and freeways. there are very few survivors of this style and era. one of the first commercial vehicles built on a car chassis. this vehicle was shown in Texas in car shows in the late sixties. then placed in a warehouse for decades before family members offered it to our cause. what makes this delivery all the more special is that the front doors have been changed out to 2 door sedan doors. which are nearly 7 inches longer than the original delivery doors. a tremendous amount of custom work done. the results are truly striking. the look is lower. longer and far more streamlined. google 1949 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery images so you can appreciate the difference. The original gas tank filler neck has been removed and replaced by a late model door added to the passenger side rear fender.
This car presents beautifully. but like nearly every other vehicle. there are a few flaws in the paint and the body is quite nice and straight. but not perfect. this project was built to be driven. it was never intended to be a garage queen show car. it draws crowds quickly and is one of very few of this first year of production that have been restored with all late model components. Most remaining 49's have kept their straight 6 motors. 3 speed trannies with column shift. stock steering. suspension. brakes. etc.
 We try to present a full and honest account of the projects we build. we encourage potential buyers to fully inspect the car in person to appreciate what we are offering. we are not interested in having a buyer disappointed in any way with their new purchase. This 49 Chevy is being sold as is. where is with no warranty of any type implied or expressed. we will attempt to answer every question asked in a swift and timely manner
