1997 Ford F-350 XLT Diesel 4WD

7. 3 Powerstroke Diesel with only 148. 00 original miles. Automatic trans and 4X4.   Power windows. locks. steering.   I recently bought this truck from the 2nd owner who has owned it for the last 13 years.   The body is very clean and has very little rust.  This is one of the nicest. low mileage 7. 3's you will find (especially in the Northeast!)  Truck is the full Crew Cab with 4 full size doors and an 8' bed with spray-in bedliner. It has has the dual gas tanks and they operate as they should.

When I bought the truck. it had the typical leaking oil pan that most of these 7. 3's experienced. I had a new. OEM Ford pan put on the truck and installed the more expensive Moroso oil pan gasket.   At the same time. I installed new track bar bushings. left outer tie rod end. and aligned the vehicle.   I also installed new front brake pads.   Ball joints were checked and were tight.   We tested glow plug relay and block heater for proper operation and they were fine.   This was all done less than 100 miles ago.   Previous owner replaced any rusted brake lines and they are all in good shape now.   Lastly. the roof drip edges had some rust so I had the roof sanded. body work completed and the roof repainted.

The truck started very well on cold mornings and runs great.   It is very fun to drive and goes straight down the road without any wobbles at 80 mph. Stops nice and straight and handles as it should.   It has a drop down DVD screen in it but I never really used it so I cannot guarantee how well it works.

Two issues that may need attention: oil cooler is starting to leak a little and the factory alarm system seems to drain the battery if armed.   When I park the truck and disarm it (lock the doors manually). the battery stays charged.   If I arm the alarm. it seems to drain over a few days.   I have not had a chance to trace out what is drawing on the battery but confident it is the alarm as it holds a charge when not armed. So if I were to keep it. I would correct that electrical drain. replace oil cooler and possibly the driver side mirror as it gets a little loose.   The dash has a very small tear as seen in the one picture but too small to warrant changing anything.   Carpets. seats etc. are in excellent condition.  I cannot stress enought how clean the interior is.

Please look at all the pictures as this truck is very. very nice and original.   I also have a cap for it as shown in one of the pictures; cap is in very good condition as well.

This is a very clean and excellent running 7. 3L long bed 4WD truck.   Hard to find like this!!  I have had a lot of questions regarding the rust on this truck.  I have owned a few of these OBS Fords as well as the newer style as well.  This truck is very clean.  It does have some rust but is limited to the typical spots for this generation truck.  As stated. the oil pan was replaced.  The body has two spots with bubbling starting and I included 2 pictures of the rear wheel wells showing that. The cab corners are excellent.  There is nothing to speak of with them (see pictures as well).  Typical surface rust on some frame spots and bottom of 3 doors.  Rocker panels appear totally solid.  The worst rust on the truck is the radiator support. which is very typical as well.  It is not at the point of needing replacement. but there are spots that the rust has rotted all the way through.

I understand what it is to buy a truck over the internet and have done my best to set proper expectations.  I have had people ask for more specifics and will be happy to accommodate any requests for pictures. I have a drop box folder I can share with about 75 pictures in it showing the rust spots and other details (such as how clean the interior is). I do understand this is a 20 year old truck and there will be other items needing work in the future.  It is also a very clean example of an all original OBS truck with very low mileage and the best diesel Ford ever put in their trucks!

Given everything above. I understand this is not a completely perfect. 100% rust free truck.  Thus. I am not asking $20K+ for it; but it is certainly not an $8K truck as the overall condition. history. mileage and options warrant a fair price.
