The 1961 Volkswagen Bug/Beetle

Hello. My name is Al Rivera. I am a licensed broker and I have been hired by the owner's family to sell this car . In fact. I have been hired to sell two Volkswagen Bugs and I have put them both  on ebay for sale. at the same time. The owner had several classic cars in his estate. of which. they are now all sold. but here are two Volkswagens. out of his collection. that he never got around to restoring. which is part of the family trust. They had been sitting in the warehouse. These vehicles are being sold with  NO RESERVE ON EITHER AUCTIONS. as requested by the family.
Up for this auction is a 1961 Volkswagen Bug/Beetle. I have taken the pictures of the Bug with my digital camera. and the pictures have not been manipulated or photo shopped for this auction.
We found both VW Bugs dirty and not running. We brought them to an area where we could work on them. The '61 looks black. but after cleaning it. it really is a deep purple. We had this bug cleaned inside and out. We did not do any body work of any kind. what you see is what you are getting. We cleaned and adjusted the brakes. we cleaned out the fuel tank. We completed an oil change and put in a new battery and got the engine running. The bug starts. steers and stops. We do not know if the 59. 11 miles listed on the odometer are really the original miles or not. We know that the engine does start right up. but seems a little tired. one of the cylinders maybe having a problem. We do not know if this is the original engine that came with the Bug or a replacement. We did note that it has been converted to a 12 volt system. and not the original 6 volt system that it came with. The paint is old and sketchy. the interior seems to be all there. but not original. The interior does show wear over time. but it seems to me that most everything you need to fix up a bug is there. and all the parts are still available and that's the fun part. To try and find a good solid bug that you can work on and slowly restore and get back to a full functioning car.
We can't tell if the collector bought these cars in this condition. or he tried to work on them. hard to say. We have no history. no paperwork. but we do have the titles to both cars. Take a look at the pictures and it can kind of tell you what you are looking at. I did note some surface rust. but I don't see a problem with it. You can see that the battery trays in the pictures are pretty much corroded and rusted out. due to the battery acid. which is kind of normal for these cars over the years. There is no structural damage. the front and rear aprons are in tact. It comes with the original "61 Bug Tail lights. and we did get the lights working. It comes with the original California Blue License Plate on the back hood. The wipers and wiper motors are missing. It seems like most of all the parts are there. so that you can make a nice bug of your own. This just might be your next hobby. Take a look and see if this is something that you would like to have. and build into what you want. If you are looking for a bug to work on. I would take a good look and see if this is the one to get. we will do our best to answer your questions. One last thing. just to let you know. we do accept offers. and  can end the auction early.
