MK1 MINI Cooper S Classic high performance Show and Race car. for sale

 For sale here is what started as a 1961  RHD Mini from New Zealand.    Myself and a handful of various shops put this car together over a 12 year span. I have been driving and building high performance MINIs since 1968.   Since finish it has less then 150 miles on it and runs better everyday.   Over 50K invested excluding hundreds of hours of time. This car is titled and registered with "Special" plates in Oregon. An Oregon owner will never pay for registration again.   This car is estimated to have a minimum of 120HP  and is VERY fast.   I urge potential buyers to come inspect the car and if unsold by Labor Day it will be on display at the All British Meet at Portland International Raceway. Engine and Transmision

1275GT Block  Currently 1380cc  with Powermax Pistons lightened and balanced Cooper S rods.  

MiniSport stage 5 head  Rimflow Valves. span >  Dual springs with Alloy retainers. bronze valve guides. MiniSport alloy 1:5 rockers. alloy valve cover with chrome T bars. ARP studs

 Kent 286 scatter cam. lightened followers standard pushrods

Fully adjustable cam timing belt driven vernier with  aluminum cover

Lightened flywheel. lightened backing plate  gray clutch cover with high performance disc.

Close ratio 4 syncro remote. KAD quick shift. cross pin differential. span >  engine steadys top and bottom. 3. 44 final drive

New radiator. 11 blade fan with stainless spacer.

Uprated pre-engaged race starter 129 tooth ring gear

RC 40 stainless exhaust  longman LCB exhaust manifold

New MK1 coopers wiring harness front and back. Changed to negative ground.

 NEW1 HIF44 SU carb   K&N stub stacks and air filter on  aluminum intake manifold. aeroquip black fuel lines with stainless clamps.

Flame thrower distributor. custom made ignition wires and caps. Optima Red Top spill proof battery

New brake and clutch master cylinders with DOT 90 degree hoses. Stainless braided clutch hose.

This engine does not leak.

Suspension and brakes and steering

New Cooper S disc brakes. span >  Superfin aluminum alloy brake drums. Green stuff pads.

Adjustable rear camber and toe brackets.   Group A rose jointed tie rods. heavy duty rose jointed lower arm set. Stainless brake lines.   Timpken taper roller wheel  bearings  MiniSport Hi-Lo  suspension

Quick rack steering rack.   RHD

New front and back subframes. Spax adjustable shocks. span >  competition bump stops

New ball joints and seals.   Real Mamba 6X10 wheels with new Yokohama A008 tires.

Body

Even though the car had only a minor amount of rust the body was completely stripped. doors removed. glass removed etc.   Any rusty panels were replaced.   This car was originally destined to go to Hawaii so rust removal and rust prevention was of utmost importance. This automobile has not even 1gr of rust anywhere.

ALL seals    window. door. boot. hood were replaced with new rubber. Swing out rear quarterlights restored on MK1 piano hinges.   Sliding window felt was replaced and the impossible to find Chrome latches were rebuilt.

Monza locking gas cap. new wipers. window washers functional. new stainless front and rear bumpers. PIAA headlights. MK1 tail lights. US type swinging license plate and flares. Steel wheel spare with Falkin tire. Porsche aluminum jack. The bonnet is on pins and lifts off the car. The bonnet is soundproofed. New  Morris Cooper S grill with a button set.

Interior

 A pair of Corbeau racing seats with Safety Devices roll bar and racing harnesses.   The back seat has been removed and a custom shelf was built and upholstered.   The steering wheel is black suade Sparco that is removable.

 Custom made blue edged carpets with another set of Paddy Hopkirk carpets on top of those  Door panels. and door pockets all new.   Sparco reflex pedals.

MK1 instrument pod with new Autometer mechanical oil pressure. air fuel ratio and water temp.  Autometer 3991 Tachometer and steering  column mounting pod. All other stock gages work as well as all the indicator lights. There is an original MK1 dome light that works as the doors are open.   The  turn signal indicator light on the end of the stem is original and works.   Center mount MK1 sunvisors.
