This is a 1985 Chevy CUCV M1008. This is a 1 1/4 ton pickup that was purpose-built for the military. The original specs are as follows: EngineGM (Detroit Diesel) 379 cu in. (6. 2L) J-series non-emissions diesel V-8 engine. 135hp@3600rpmTransmissionGM TH400 (Turbo Hydramatic 400) automatic transmission with 3 forward and 1 reverse speedsTransfer CaseManual NP208AxlesDana 60 front. 10. 5 in Corporate 14 Bolt rear diff (w/Detroit Locker). The plow is a Western plow. The breakup pattern was done for fun. it was put on to use at my house only-it has never commercially plowed. With the last 18" snow. it handled it in one pass. no issues. It never had an issue with pulling our 18' boat. For it's size. it is fairly economical. doing about 20 miles per gallon. The blackout lights are still on it. as are the brush guard and the bridge weight plate (the number holder from the military).
This is not a new truck. We have the usual rust issues. and it would benefit from cab corners and work at the wheel wells (as shown in the pictures). The truck is not used much anymore. and it is suffering from the lack of use. We have replaced the oil pan. the gas tank. re-grounded the engine and replaced the brake lines in the last year as a result of the disuse. The exhaust is still in good shape. The glow plugs seem to be an issue. making the truck a little reluctant to start on a cold day. Despite some issues. it is not a basket case. and has great potential to be a rock climber or just to be enjoyed as a military truck.
As with any vehicle this age.  I strongly recommend you come and look at it first. I am not a mechanic. and this is an older working truck. We will not ship it out of the country.  We are not interested in people trying to scam us. We are looking to reduce the number of vehicles we have. but I am not desperate to sell it. Thanks for looking!
