The works car that competed in the 1939 RAC rally driven by " Bentley Boy " S. C. H " Sammy " Davis before being driven around the outer circuit at Brooklands by A. F. " Rivers " Fletcher at a tad under 110 m. p. h . All motorsport activities and car production in the U. K. was then suspended until the end of WW2.

Raymond Mays was one of the world's most famous racing drivers . breaking records from the twenties in his Bugatti and a works Mercedes Benz Targa Floria team car at his favourite hill climb venue " Shelsley Walsh " and driving various E. R. A's to numerous victories in prestigious international events . managing to beat the German state sponsored racing cars at several events and along with the world's best racing drivers . including Prince Bira of Siam took honours wherever they competed.

Mays wanted to manufacture an E. R. A road going car and produced along with one of his partners Peter Berthon this V8 roadster which had wonderful reviews but unfortunately WW2 put paid to this venture . After WW2 Mays was engrossed with B. R. M racing cars and eventually hung up his racing goggles in 1950 to give the problematic B. R. M projects his full attention.

This is the E. R. A V8 roadster sportscar and is a significantly historic car and a gilt edge investment opportunity . its can be a quick car to drive when required and has outstanding road holding abilities . Its in wonderful condition and will give its new custodian loads of fun.

Can be competed and shown anywhere and with a several year comprehensive restoration being completed the car is road registered and ready to be used at the most prestigious events worldwide. There is ample leg room for larger drivers and their passengers.
