1972 Bronco Explorer Sport.    302. 3 speed manual on the column. power brakes. manual steering. non-AC. dealer optional roll bar.     I have the original backseat. stored in good condition.
This is a very original truck that was repainted in the 80s. and has been off the street around 15 years due to excessive tub rust.    Buyer should expect a restoration project that needs a tub. not a daily driveable vehicle.
Original color was Durango tan and it's the only appearance of a brown explorer interior.    It was a special sales option package (see pics)
The top. doors. and front clip are in very good shape by Midwest standards.    The tub appears to have rusted from the inside out due to leaks. so it's bad in all the crevices even though the main panels look solid.    The cowl. floor supports and transmission tunnel are all in decent shape. so saving this tub is theoretically possible.   However you'd be replacing over 50% of the tub's weight with patch panels.
This truck runs great. engine doesn't smoke or tick. trans shifts into all the gears. and the 4x4 works great.   The lights work. the alternator charges. nbsp;it makes good oil pressure. this thing is a living breathing vehicle.    Unfortunately both gas tanks are junk. so it runs from a gas can strapped underhood.    All the rubber brake hoses look scary & original so I've never attempted to drive it on the street even though it stops and steers just fine driving around my yard.
Odometer reads 94028 and the speedometer works.    Everything about this truck indicates original mileage.    I've inspected the frame closely and it's not rotten in the trouble areas.
Bought it to restore around 5 years ago but too many other projects have come along since.    In my time. I've rebuilt the (original) carburetor. tuned it up. and installed a used set of BFG ATs that don't leak.    If you don't get around to restoring it right away. you can always count on it to start up and move around the driveway.
Let's talk price.    $6500 is strong money for a bronco that needs a tub.    However. that's what this bronco needs. a tub.    It does not need the mechanicals rebuilt and it doesn't need all the brightwork and small parts replaced.     For a stock restoration. this is an easy one and the extra upfront will save thousands on the back end.   I am open to offers but have turned down $4k many times. so make a strong offer please.
Rust is a hard thing to describe and I would prefer any buyer view the vehicle in person rather than buying sight unseen.
Truck is adertised locally at the same price. I reserve the right to cancel this listing if the truck sells locally.
