1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

'66 V8 Mustang Coupe with vinyl roof. Door tag decode shows she is a California built car . possibly originally silver frost in colour. depending on which decoder you use. that was shipped to an LA dealership. and was still on Arizona plates when bought by me. so she has spent her life in the dry states. this is more than apparent by the overall general condition of the panels and underside.

All very good original glass and factory date stamped panels save for a small dent in the drivers rear quarter. just visible in pic 5. it is very minor but not something I was going to disturb until fresh paint is done to save it cracking. the paint hasn't been applied very well before I bought her and does have a couple of chips. mainly on the edges of panels. but does polish up quite well as shown in pics.

The boot floor has been boarded over by me and covered with carpet tiles to give a more useable and flatter and area.

The standard black interior is in very good order. excellent dash pad and roof lining. the main fault being the drivers seat base has split along its stitching. and the swabs have lost some of their 'cushioning'.

Good strong 'Cruise o matic' 3 speed tranny mated to what seems to be the original motor due to the Cali smog equipment attached.

Motor breathes in through Holley 4 barrel carb on Edelbrock inlet and out through twin Flowmaster 40 series system.

A front disc conversion is fitted. the discs and pads are excellent and stop her firmly. Recent leaf springs to rear.

Originally fitted with power steering. I changed it for a manual link as the hydraulic junction was weeping and I felt the power steering was too light creating 'bump steer'. Whilst the car is moving the weight of the steering now feels normal and she drives with less corrective steering. Parking does require a touch more effort but the large diameter steering wheel helps. The power steering pump is included with the car.

Now running on what I believe are genuine Magnum 500 rims with good tyres. a rarity in themselves. not exactly age related to this car. they were for '71-on. but I like the style. She was on a set of  90's Ford Ranger alloys when I purchased her. the set of 4 are included and have excellent tyres.

Overall a well preserved useable classic. not a show queen. that is suitable 'as is' for years to come or an easy resto/mod project to get you through the winter.

Only selling to possibly fund a 6 berth motorhome. or she would have got paint and possibly a John Barrett motor.

Some other spares and cosumables are included with the car.

If you require more pics of any areas of the car in particular just send me a message.
